Playoff 4 Predictions

I agree in that those extra wins make them look better.

I think if we get left out over conference champions with similar resumes it may finally push us to join a conference.

Haven't been on IE all weekend. I'm sure someone has expressed this opinion already but I think the only team we really need to actively root against is Oregon. They are the one team I think can get in our way that has a chance to win out. I think our resume will be better than Michigan State's if both teams win out. My prediction for the 4 teams is (I think Oregon loses again):

ND

It would help us immensely if that loss was to USC or Arizona State in the Pac-12 championship game. Assuming we win out, of course. Either way, I'd agree that Oregon's the biggest threat to our playoff hopes.

My four:
1: Champion of Mississippi. (Ole Miss)
2: Champion of Alabama (Bama)
3: FSU
4: ND/Oregon/MSU/Big 12 champ (of those the only one I actually see getting in over us would be Oregon).

Of course then you've got three Power Five conferences shut out of the first-ever playoff, and we're at eight teams within three years.

MSU could do it. They get a lot of credit from the voters and their public perception is pretty strong. I don't think anyone believes in OSU though.

A Big 10 team making it doesn't seem right to me. Maybe if they were undefeated.

MSU got beat by 19, completely shellacked in the 2nd half by the hands of the Ducks. They have a very soft schedule and their marquee win, assuming a win, would be OSU.

But they do. Michigan State won the Rose Bowl and their QB came back. That made them a popular dark horse playoff pick. Yeah they lost to Oregon and play no one else. But if they win 12 straight...
Too bad this is the year they're off our schedule.
