Player Signing/Recruit Visit Rule Changes Approved (2023)

See NCAA increases official visits to 70, extends removal of signing limit and NCAA removes limits on how many official visits recruits can take and as I previously posted, it sounds like NCAA is making it easier to get out of player NLI signing commitment (as in no waiver required!). All spun to be beneficial to all, but I am just imagining a next level of chaos that's coming... Chaos that will make ND recruiting (getting commitments AND hanging on to those commitments) that much more challenging! (E.g., new rules allow recruits to officially visit as many schools as their schedule allows, but they are still limited to one official per school, provided there is no head coaching change.)

In thinking about this more, this is an extension of over-signing allowance already in place so no real change there; and we all know players take a lot of unofficials anyway and, furthermore , how many officials can a player take in a busy summer and season, but it does look like it will be easier to get out of NLI signing. Continued over-signing is something ND should be sure to take advantage of since we cannot so easily add transfers but we still can lose plenty. Savvy schools can easily add and subtract players and really optimize their rosters these days.
