Phil Steele's ND preview

The last 3 years I bought and read his yearbook till the covers came off. Not this year. Phil is no dummy and Notre Dame's fan base is the largest in the country. 10 of my 12 power rankings say that Phil wants to sell magazines. I hope he is right and I hope I have him pegged as an Irish backer but this year no go for me. His formulas are logical and he does get it close but many college fans could have told you last year Auburn COULD be undefeated going into the Alabama game. The ONE thing that he always falls back on and it makes sense to me is returning O-line with multiple game experience. Like I said many college fans could tell you that. Great color pictures but this year I'm out.

I like having him in there against the run. If the D-Line improves as much as we all hope it will, then his pass coverage skills won't be as critical because the QB will have VERY little time to get rid of the ball.

up front, pass rush helps out everybody. This year the length we brought in, I am hoping for a solid rotation with Lynch and Tuitt.
