Ok, that loss stung a lil bit. but its monday mich week is over msu is up next. we have a lethal offense and a legitimate heisman trophy candidate calling the shots.

a lot of top 25 matchups this week so we can get back into the rankings after we demolish msu.

losing sucks especially to a rival, but the team controls its own destiny, and with teams finally getting into their real schedules expect more upsets and more room for us to move up in the polls.

GO IRISH!!!! BEAT spartans!!!!

I think your D will match up well against a more traditional Offense, but they will get some yards on you by running.

MSU Will Have Big Ten Officials

Some Explaining To Do

BlueandGold.com // Some Explaining To Do

The officials for the Michigan game were a Big Ten crew, which is interesting because Notre Dame is tied in with Big East officials and the road team typically brings in the game crew. But Weis said the contracts with Michigan mandate Big Ten officials are used for games in Ann Arbor while Notre Dame uses its Big East crews for its home games with the Wolverines. It’s a backward approach to traditional officiating assignments.

...

Another Big Ten crew will be at Notre Dame Stadium this weekend for the Michigan State game and a Big East crew will be in West Lafayette for the Purdue game

I just don't know how the fucks in the press box took back the Armando Allen touchdown without ANY conclusive evidence that he stepped out of bounds.

It fair to say the replays were inconclusive.

From the camera on the far side of the field, the angle on the first clip appeared to show him out but you couldn't see the boundary side of his foot in that angle.

From the out of bounds angle of the second clip he looked to skirt the line.

INCONCLUSIVE proof - the call on the field stands in such a case.

Touchdown, Notre Dame.

I believe I heard Charlie note in the press conference that this week will have Big Ten officials.

Thanks for the wonderful news! I probably should just skip watching this game until after I know the final score...I do not need my blood pressure to go through the roof everytime the officials reg the game for MSU! I was thinking ND 34 - MSU 17 but now I am thinking ND 31 - MSU 28...or vice versa depending on how many scores the officials take away from us!!!

How about the Mich. defender pushing our runner back to the ground after the whistle and in front of an official.....and still no penalty flag was thrown. The officiating was terrrible....did you see those guys haul ass off the field with the final whistle. IMO, we won the game and I think all who watched it know that!

its back to statement time for ND we cant have another close call, we need to erase all doubt.

maybe this loss is just what they needed.

maybe Clausen and the captains gave a private tebowesque speech to the players in the locker room after the game.

All i know is i would not want to be msu next saturday around 330

I think it's fair to say that the replays, as we saw them, were inconclusive. I don't think anyone can argue that. But what was NOT discussed by the announcers, was whether or not the replay system at the stadium has the same "zoom in" features as NBC shows, during the Sunday night NFL games. Their (the NFL) system has a feature which allows the replay official to zoom in and enlarge certain portions of the picture. It's possible that the replay system Saturday had this same feature, and that it was conclusive upon being enlarged to get a better picture. I couldn't complain too loudly because it was impossible to tell, on the replays ABC showed us, whether or not Allen's heel came down on the line. From the replays I saw, it looked as if it might have. If the TV production crews were interested in providing quality programming, they would know exactly what capabilities are, and would clearly inform the audience of them.

This team will be ready and MSU can not match up with us. Weknow what to expect from MSU

They will pound the rock and try to break us and they will try to stop our run.

Our defense matches up much better and i would not be surprised to see Ethan Johnson playing end and Hafis at tackle to stop the run.

Our defesne has been getting into the backfield alot and MSU doesnt have a QB to avoid the rush.

This is gonna be a dominating performance

agreed. were an 11 point favorite and i'd be surpised if we win by anything less than that. i'm still waiting for the game when weis decides to open up with some no huddle like the michigan 05 game. that was such a badass drive

I can't remember which team it was last weekend that opened the game with an onside kick and recovered the ball to start the game. Let's open the game with an onside kick to Anello's side and let him go get it. Then run no huddle for the drive and shove it down Sparty's throat!

I love the fact that your always optimistic! I also hope that this is what the team needed to get going and and whoop some ass! I also agree the officiating sucked on Saturday but I think we underachieved bigtime too!

I also think our defense would do better against an opponent with a more traditional offense. I still think we can win a lot of games this season but all we can do is wait and see!

Go ND! I don't care how we win this weekend..... I just want a W!

over it

over it

I'm usually pretty good at doing that and DID that Sun. Finding out about the refs, seeing Notre Dame writers comment on Notre Dame official websites leads me to believe that some important people are as chapped as I am now. Yeh I'm over it and I see them taking it to some teams down the line, but that game should be used to remind everyone that Notre Dame stands alone. Can you imagine the $#@% that would be said by media if that was pulled on Oklahoma, Ala, or USC. (big ten my @!$)
