Man, if I hear that phrase one more time, I'm going to scream. The positive: USC is absolutely outclassing Oklahoma in every facet even though it is only 14-7.

Time for USC to pull away. Jason White just threw another pick and SC is 1st and Goal.

28-7 before halftime would be rough... and there is still 9:30 left in the 2nd!

I bet the folks down in Alabama are happy. Maybe Auburn can actually get a piece of the National Championship.

If they hang 50+ on Oklahoma, I don't think anyone could even consider Auburn a co-champ. I think USC is out to prove they were the true champs from last season.

45-10 in the 3rd. Leinart is going pro.

Yeah, you're probably right. Who knew USC was this good? I was hoping for an Oklahoma blowout (it might've helped the Tigers). But USC could be a dynasty in the making...I think even w/o Leinart, they could make a serious challenge for the title.

Yeah, after this I don't think anyone can blame Ty for the loss to USC...lol. Apparently the Trojans are a team full of men who have been playing against a bunch of college kids every week.

Yeah, that's how it always is. First the title, then the scandal. But imagine how good this team would have been if Mike Williams was allowed to play. The NCAA kind of screwed the kid over, but I still think he'll be a solid pro prospect. I'd love it if Atlanta was able to steal him in the draft.

Hmm... green jerseys with Coach Ty... NDLyght37, you do realize your avatar is from the day the wheels came off of the Ty-Train, right? The loss to Boston College in season 1? ;)

God, I hate those damn green jerseys even more than I dislike Willingham...I'm hoping Weis isn't dumb enough to wear them EVER again, or if he does, make it against like Ball State or something...

I don't know, I like 'em, but they've been used too many times the past few years. The perfect use was the Sugar Bowl against Florida, when we were 9-2 and the whole country was saying a 2-loss team didn't belong in a premeire bowl. Lou Holtz said, "Oh, yeah?" pulled out the greens, and held a coaching clinic for Steve Spurrier. We were truly underestimated that game, and the green jerseys did a great job of putting the exclamation point on the statement.

Now... wearing green against Colorado in the Fiesta Bowl when we were 6-4-1... eek. We sucked that year in ANY uniform color.

And in retrospect, green against BC in 2002 was an awful idea. When you're the favored team against an unranked opponent, the green jerseys do more to inspire the other team than your own.

The greens should only be for games where we're the underdog, but we have a realistic chance of winning and just need that extra "something" to push us over the top. When we put on the greens for any other reason, we lose.

LOL...Perfect representation of the Willingham Era...the promise & the frustration all in that one picture. I hated those green jerseys (Kelly green, right?). I think they were too slick or something, because every time the boys wore them, turnovers always seemed to follow.

And Rip, Leinart's a Junior (he redshirted a year).

He's a junior, not a senior. But you're probly right, it'd most likely be in his best interests to go pro. Don't know that he will though.

Thought about starting this as a new thread, but I put it back:

I guess I'm in the minority here, but college football is best when ND and USC are on top. I cannot describe how strongly I hate southern football and the Florida Johnny-come-latelies in particular, but there is no denying that OK was-dare I say it?-outcoached. That relied heavily on Chow's offense.

There is still a strong chance Chow is leaving next year, if not this year. Does anybody know anything? I even heard his named linked to the Syracuse opening.

Also, Leinart should go to the NFL. If I am correct, he is a senior and he won a championship and the Heismann. Why risk injury? It would be dumb for him to stay at USC and forego the NFL opportunity now.

With or without him, USC's got to be the favorite for #1 again. But if he does comeback, and Chow comes back...scary. I think Chow is the bigger loss than Leinart. If he leaves, then we will see how good Carroll really is.

BTW, VY...I sensed bad Karma coming from the old avatar. So I had to call 'Phonso off the bench...It was either Ellis or Ruth Riley. And this way my avatar & my signature have synchronicity. ;)

Indeed. Cue the Imperial March. :starwars:

On the avatar, nice switch. It just seemed odd for the biggest Ty supporter on the board to have as his avatar a pic from one of Ty's worst days.

lol...giving up on Rattay so soon? I though he was alright before he got hurt...he just needs more weapons.

As for Lienart, I think he'll be a better pro than Carson Palmer. He'll probably get drafted by Cleveland. So the 2 Trojans can live out their playing careers working for two terrible teams in Ohio.

Lol, San Fran is too cheap to draft a QB #1. They'll just trade down anyway. Besides, what do you need w/ Matt Leinart when you have Ken Dorsey on staff??? lol

(actually w/ a real o-line, and good west coast offensive coach, and some recievers, I think Dorsey wouldn't be half-bad at QB. unfortunately he has none of that right now)
