Perhaps, this is wishful thinking on my part but 6 bowls and a NC bowl. This could be used to extend thing in the future to take the top 8 teams 1v8, 2v7, 3v6, 4v5, = 4 bowls, that leaves 4 winners left for two more Bowl games 2 winners left for the NC game. Works for me. I know, I know but I can dream can't I?

Can't complain about SEC bias and then push for an 8-team playoff. That's just asking for 3, 4, 5 SEC teams in the playoff every year. It would totally ruin the sport.

Six teams with top two getting byes is the absolute max I would ever want. But first they need to straighten out the whole conference champion business, and also see what realignment leaves the landscape looking like in the next few years.

Make no mistake the whole thing needs some work. I personally like 8. I disagree with Acamp but that's okay. I don't come on here just to agree with everyone anyway and that is a good thing. Fans can disagree from time to time it is what makes having a beer at the bar that much more fun. Nothing like talking sports and talking trash over a cold one.

I remember when they went from a 32 team field to a 64 team field in the NCAA Basketball tournament. Then people said they were adding too many teams. They have kept the interest of that many more teams. The same thing would happen with an 8 team playoff. Two weeks to go in the season and your team is ranked 10th. you are still stoked as a fan because if you can make it into the top 8 you still have a chance.

I do believe there is a bias towards the SEC. They have fairly earned some of that. I won't demand they stop doing it. The other conferences have to do something about it. They could do so by pushing some of those non conference games against SEC teams and then go win them. Then go win their bowl game against SEC teams.
