Looks like you can subtract one of those "quality wins." With Fresno St. losing to Louisiana Tech (yes, that's men's football), Oregon just became bowl ineligible... if we follow your reasoning.

Here's what that means for the Ducks:
1. You've now beaten ZERO ranked teams this year.
2. You've now only PLAYED one ranked team this year... and got blown out.... at home.
3. For all intents and purposes, you are now a Division III school.

I'm only using your rationale to conduct this "schedule analysis." I've become very astute in this method from watching you on every ND message board for the past several weeks. I appreciate the help you have given us in getting selected to a BCS bowl. You have really helped establish extra publicity for the Irish program just at the right time.
Thanks and good-bye.

Oregon is not a BCS team unless they are undefeated and ranked in the top-2 or conference champs (which does, apparently, mean something to fans of regional schools).

Playing the ugly ducklings should have never been a legitimate concern.

Yeah, that winning record and ranked team thing really backfired on them after Fresno State took a dive.

USC 66...UCLA 19

Way to go, WAC-10. You put up a great fight against the Trojans this year. Minus Arizona State, you all pretty much blew chunks.

And your referees suck too, I might add.

The Mountain West has terrible officials as well. Oh and let's not forget about the SEC. Horrible.

Get a look at SC's schedule in 2006. What a joke.

2006
Sept. 9 at Arkansas
Sept. 16 Nebraska
Sept. 23 at Arizona
Sept. 30 at Washington State
Oct. 7 Washington
Oct. 14 Arizona State
Oct. 28 at Oregon State
Nov. 4 at Stanford
Nov. 11 Oregon
Nov. 18 California
Nov. 25 Notre Dame
Dec. 2 at UCLA

They'll be unbeaten when they host ND. I'll take all bets on that starting now.

Spot on Jigga.

ND will be 11-0....ranked #1 or #2...on a 17 game unbeaten streak.....and Spoiled Children will be 10-0....on a 45 game unbeaten streak....

Silly Condoms, don't you know what ND does to teams that have 40-something game winning streaks....(see Oklahoma....1940s...)

USC won't be unbeaten! Texas will beat them in the Rose Bowl.

If they do, I'll order you Longhorn gear and ship it to your house.

I hope you're right, but it ain't gonna happen.

God I hope you it plays out that way!! I have been to the last four ND/SC games out here in Southern CA. The SC fans are total jack asses especially after the last two blowouts to Ty & co.
I can hardly wait for Notre Dame to come out here with a real coach a kick the living daylights out of SC!!!!

I like the Longhorns chances of beating SC. Their defence and special teams are better. Both teams have great offenses, but of course, SC's is great. But, I like Texas.

Oh, and Duck fan can go away now. See you in the Holiday bowl.

The only sports fans worse than Los Angeles are in Atlanta, or so I'm told.

Lost TWO NFL teams, show up in the 4th inning of baseball games and leave in the 6th, only show up if the Lakers are winning (do they know about the Clippers?) and still think Gretzky plays for the Kings.

Carroll has the Spoiled Children winning again and they're out of the woodwork.

As a Chicagoan, I'm used to our teams sucking. But there is sellout after sellout for the Bears, Cubs, Bulls and Notre Dame.

L.A. isn't a very loyal fan base. If Petey goes 9-2, attendance will dip. They didn't travel well to the Orange Bowl against Iowa a few years back.

With that tap dance recital (Leinart) of a schedule next year, I will laugh hysterically if they go 9-2. I love our chances next year at SC, especially with Petey's golden boys leaving (ala White, and the belle of the ball Leinart graduating).
Has anyone heard if Bush is going pro this year? Betcha Poodle is doing everything in his power to keep him there (paying the Bush family mortage, letting him date his daughter, giving him the rights to his next born kid, giving him the keys to the Benz, selling his sole to the anti-Christ, etc...)

ABC interviewed the family Saturday during the UCLA game. Dad said he is ready for the next level.

Word is that White and Bush are both looking at potential agents. Petey is mad and thinks the media is trying to influence Bush out. No Pete, 500 all purpose yards in one game is all the influence you need.

Petey strikes me as a guy that would want to keep his guys around for his own personal benefit, ready or not. I'm guessing that Weis will tell Fasano to jump. Not going to argue with Carroll's success, but a tool is a tool.

What's sad is that both Bush and White will be replaced by two more studs. There will be some falloff losing Leinart and the running game, but with the WAC 10 schedule they won't skip a beat.

But if you look at all of the highlights from the season, who are the main players in all of those big plays, Leinart, Bush, White, Jarrett, and Smith. You take away 3 of those factors, I see a huge drop off from this year to next. I could not imagine anyone stepping in and doing what Bush did this year.
I would be happy as hell to see him go pro. Hell, I know the Browns would take him in a heartbeat.
I would also be happy as hell to see Ol' Petey crying in his beer when his meal tickets are gone and playing in the pros.

Kellen Winslow.

Braylon Edwards.

I don't think Reggie wants to go to Cleveland. Otherwise, knee problems are his destiny.

As long as he stays off the Ninja, he'd be O.K.

Edwards----Michigan product (enough said).

Every day, I thank the Football Gods the Bears didn't get Edwards.

Jerry Angelo, please draft Maurice Stovall. And Anthony Fasano. And more receivers.

Do the Bears have any former Irish players on the roster? I haven't had a chance to watch much football on Sundays (still hangin from Saturday games). I know the Browns have J. Faine, but that is all (I think)

All I know is:
Colts= undefeated
Bears= doing well this year. Killer D
T.O.= unemployed
Browns=still horrible RUFF RUFF. Not much to bark about this year.

I don't know Jiggs. It just might happen. Texas has the speed on defense to stay with SC. They have a ton of speed on offense. SC will have their hands full with this team. SC can be as cocky as they want to be, but they know Texas is no pushover. They are no Oklahoma, who didn't deserve to be there last year. I heard that being brought up on GameDay last weekend, "Will Texas get blown out like their Big 12 conference mate?". What does that have to do with this game this year? This will be a great game. If it turns into a blowout, I will be highly disappointed.

Marc Edwards was on the team, but got cut when the two other fullbacks came back. They play special teams.

Edwards did a great job blocking for the Bears' running game. He really didn't do anything wrong, just had to get cut to make way for the two other guys.

Believe it or not, a lot of people in Chicago were unhappy the Bears cut him. The topic was discussed and debated, briefly, but people noticed his contribution.

I said the same thing the other day. It seems like Pete will do anything to keep his guys there all four years. What more can Reggie do? Everybody knows that Lendale White will be a high draft pick if he comes out. He'll be even higher depending on workouts. Reggie will probably be the No. 1 draft choice. He's won a NC, he'll win the Heisman. He's got enough highlight film to run a 4 day marathon on ESPN Classic. Again..what more can he do? I know...he can come back and help Pete stay on top and run the risk of getting injured and seeing his NFL money go bye-bye. Reggie's gone Pete and you should get over yourself. Pete is a tool. He should put the needs and dreams of his players above his own. College is great, but it ain't 4 million dollars a year with a 10 million signing bonus.
