I think Blackmon will have to have a Rich Eisen-at-the-combine-like performance at his pro day to drop from the #1 WR spot.

Just to be clear, I don't necessarily think Blackmon will be a better pro than Floyd...just that he'll be drafted higher. I think Floyd is a solid, know-what-you're-getting type of receiver; I think Blackmon is a boom-or-bust type. His upside is higher than Floyd's. Will he ever reach that though? I think that's the big question.

So during pro day there is no electronic time? If so Floyd's time is more legit being laser timed.

Weeden ran a 4.8 if anyone wanted to know that.

Blackmon's second run was clocked in the 4.3 range.

Dude the official is an average of times.

If one is sub 4.42 you owe daddy.

Is that why Mike Floyd ran two 40's at the combine... First unofficial was 4.42, second unofficial was 4.44.

That averages to 4.43.... So why's his official 40-time 4.47? Because it has nothing to do with 'averages'.

Busted.

At the combine for each run they have one laser timed and two hand timed. With two runs that is 6 times clocked, they take the average of 6 not 2.

Like I said KOON tang...

There won't be an "official."

But, I took the bet on the premise one forty time would be sub 4.42.

Most likely they both are.

I do see where scouts will most likely add a standard deviation correction of .08 to the time.

But in here, we ain't scouts boy-0!

Erroneous.

If militaryirish is correct, it still doesn't matter... Apparently there wasn't a laser time at the pro-day so there's no way to compare the 'official time' the way they do at the combine.

So take my bet, wimp. I'm even giving you .2 seconds! 100k he runs 4.42 or higher.

Alright on one condition: if just one of his times are sub 442, I win.

No it's not. Official is the official time when they review it. That's why all unofficial times are typically much faster than officials. It's not the average. Can someone verify this?

They take unofficial times and average an official.

Pay up.

I don't even need the money, but now its a pride thing.

KOON-TANG!

You are fudging. In front of the world.

Lol.

Here, I have captured the synopsis.

Hilarity.

This bet has been bullshit, but I'll pay up on whatever they count as Blackmon's pro-day 'official', regardless of how they compute it.

As always, link or it didn't happen :)

The links out there are so spread apart.

It's a shame too.

I can guarantee with the way the kid separated from secondary these last two years he's fast.

It's early yet. No doubt, by the end of the day they'll report his 'official' 40 time and we'll go from there.

I don't want your money anymore.

But if it comes to fruition I was wrong, I'll give you another 100k on top of that million.

Chris Mortensen is tweeting he ran a 4.46.

I've seen so much bullshit all over the web, from 4.33 to 4.58.

Lol.

The scouts hand there own times by their own people they trust.

He's fast.

And quick.

And shifty.

And he's got great hands.

Depending on team needs would decide which receiver you take: Floyd or Blackmon. I know Floyd is more physical and his run blocking is beastly.

The most recent I've found are his two times were most likely 4.41 and 4.46. So it appears they are taking the slowest.

Unless they are adding the .08 to .1 to his times.

Then he may be REAL fast.

According to Kevin Weidl
Hearing anywhere from 4.41 up to 4.50 from scouts on Blackmon. Unless he ran an absurdly slow time it didn't really matter - tape trump

I feel like this should have been somewhere in this thread. lol Funny how an unofficial bet has created more pages than one of Gibby's vbook threads.

Before I would say that his upside is greater than Mike's I would like to know: what is Blackmon's official height and weight, (he may have grown since their last media guide) and does any one know what Oklahoma State's defensive coordinator can run the 40 in, officially. I think Diaco might be taller than Blackmon.
