I know many of you HATE Colin Cowherd. I don't agree with him on alot of things, but he brings up good points and at least makes you think.
Wanted to see what you guys thought of this?
He said he heard from an inside source (a coach he knows involved with the game)
That the game was not even close and really should have been a blowout if not for a ton of bad breaks against USC and terrible officiating. He also said that the athleticism and playmakers are still not even close. Went on to say take a look at every time a USC wide receiver caught the ball, tons of separation, caught the ball in open field with room to run. Every time a ND receiver caught the ball it was in traffic, had to be a perfect ball, and was getting hit right away.
Basically saying we are not close to USCs level talent wise.
Also said about the officiating that there was terrible ball spots the whole game. I don't really remember those but maybe someone else does?
I know Colin is a homer for USC but what do you think of some of those comments?
Colin Cowherd is a huge doucher. Cowherd is like a fan who got a radio show. He just sits behind his mic pontificating about any and everything. I've listened to the guy on my way to work for the past six months and I have yet to hear him make a valid point about anything. Case-in-point was him talking about how college sports would be fine without the fans. He said "it existed before the big stadiums and if you all left it would still be there." Funny, college are being forced to discontinue all sorts of athletic programs because of budgetary concerns. But don't tell that to Colin Cowherd because he has all the answers.
First off, the officiating in the ND-USC game was spot-on. Did Cowherd honestly think that the personal fouls called against USC weren't legitimate? If he knew anything about football he'd also know that ND's corners and safeties are instructed on their coverage pre-snap so if the DB's give the WR's a big cushion because they have safety help and USC exposes the open areas that's a credit to USC's QB, coaches and WR's. But it doesn't mean that USC is purely more athletic.
I'm guessing this "college coach" is on the USC staff b/c nobody else in the country takes Colin Cowher seriously so I'm not sure who'd talk to him.
