The someone is lying because Chow has stated publicly he has been trying to get a top DI coaching gig for years. When you put out QBs like he has, something else is up for him not to get a shot... I mean, Ty Willingham got Stanford and that is all Chow wanted.
Doesn't add up.
Don't get me wrong - I've seen the statements from Chow - I'm not saying your wrong. And you're right - something doesn't add up. But I've got to believe it's on Chow's side (Some of those recent comments are probably PR positioning more than anything else). He didn't get the Stanford job - a job for which he publicly expressed interest - but consider Stanford's situation. Even under Ty, their success was sporadic, and now they're trying to rebuild. They needed - and ultimately selected - a coach that had proven success in building a program from the head coach's position. Chow, for all his success, has never been a head coach.
I get the impression that some of Chow's success has gone to his head. It's possible he views some of the sure-fire jobs beneath him. Setting aside the fact that he's a west-coast guy and has probably intentionally limited himself in that respect, I'm not convinced that he's willing to take a head coaching job at a mid-major school, where he could undoubtedly get a job if he wanted it. Do you really think Western Michigan University wouldn't have offered him a job had he shown interest? He could go to a WAC or MAC school in a heartbeat, and the fans would love him. Problem is, I think he's always wanted to go directly from a OC job to an HC job with an elite program, and that's not an easy thing to do no matter how good you are.
