While sitting here crusing through IE jobless, I figured I would ask for some help. I just went to a job interview Monday for a job that I'm really interested in. I felt really good about it, but I could use all the help I can get. For those of you who do this sort of thing, I'd like to ask that you keep me and my job search in your prayers. I don't consider myself exceptionally religious, but I am a spiritual person and I'm certain that any additional prayers will help. Thanks!

I worked in the employment industry for two years.

Ask them for the job. Number one rule. Let them know you're interested and you're ready to start.

Ask for the job...always.

Prayers always help and I will be sure to keep you in mine. Let us know how you make out with the job search.

I agree with Jigga, as someone that is in charge of hiring at our location. I love it when someone I interview makes it a point to call and/or writes a letter after the interview and tell me how interested they are in the job and/or how badly they want the job, etc. It never hurts your chances, it always helps.

Thanks for the words everyone. I did e-mail them the day of the interview and thank them for their time and advise them that I feel it would be a great fit for me and hope it would be for them. Unfortunately, the company has put the position on hold. They did advise me that I was one of the final candidates and that once they open it back up for consideration I would be contacted. I'm not sure if that's an easy way to let me down or if it's really the case. I would hope that if I wasn't selected that they would be honest about it. I'm a big boy, I can handle bad news and I'll move on. My job search continues.....

I would say it was a legit response. If you were no longer being considered for the job they would have told you. An employer may be hanging themselves out there, legally, if they gave a BS response to an applicant. Stay positive, and if this job doesn't work out, keep trying.
