This is from an article I found the other night in the wee hours. I thought it was on ISD but I can't find it there or on any other ND site. Perhaps it was being posted and I caught it before it was locked in as premium, I don't know. But I have the article."

He prefaced his list with commentary that it's based upon offers, needs, talent, competition, depth. Keep in mind some new recruits could still surface. I's not final yet. He noted that you may not see some highly regarded names because those names aren't holding ND in high regard. He's being pragmatic.

Recruiting Priority List Brian Smith
1 Hendrix QB
2 Garrison Smith DL
3 Josh Shaw CB
4 Brent Benedict OL
5 Brandon Linder OL
6 James Stone OL
7 T.J. Clemmings DE
8 Anthony Barr ATH
9 Dion Bailey S
10 Justin McCay WR

People can argue what position is the Priority. I think OT. Some say DL. Some QB. Varied reasons.

OLs - Notice my Dynamic H&H Duo, Henderson and Hurst, the twin OT studs aren't on the list. Hurst already declared for UNC and Henderson doesn't seem to be including ND. He likes Benedict and Linder as being capable of playing more than one position. He likes Stone for aggression but thinks he needs time to hone his game.

DLs - He likes Smith's size AND grades. Smith could step in on the DLine and pass rush from Day 1. Clemmings only has 1 yr football experience but he believes he can play on Sundays. Speed and quickness in a big frame

QB - This list was out before the UW announcent. He liked Hendrix over Montana but would be happy with either.

DBs - He likes Shaw size AND grades. Sees him at any of the 4 DB slots. Like's Bailey's size and speed.

WR- In another year Justin McCay would be a Top 3 Priority. Very good player BUT with ND's depth at WR he's not essential - now. IF, Golden posts big numbers and sniffs NFL $$$ McCay could rise from Priority #10 to the Top 3.

Notre Dame has already made there case with Blake Lueders and Cody Riggs, and i'm sure they are confident in both. Justin McCay and Sean parker are not going to commit any time soon so they can still work them as the season progresses
