Hey guys a friend of mine just bought tix for the MSU game. They are in Section 1 and in Row 3. He heard somewhere that rows 1-2 in that section are on the grass (not sure if its standing room or what), so he was wondering if I or anyone knew if row 3 in section 1 was technically the first row in that section. He's not too tech-savvy, so he wanted me to try and figure this out for him. I've poked around a bit online, and couldn't find a real answer. I was juts wondering if anyone knew or had sat in that section or anything. Thanks!

They're faculty ones or something right? I think that is what he said. Not sure, but pretty jealous.

Hah. I have no idea. All of the best seats in the house are either perks or you have to donate a ton of money.

Reminds me of '09 when my little brother came up for a game with some other family and friends... I had managed to get a big jumble of tickets from friends, roommates, ND clubs, etc. and we gave my brother a loner because he was going to come sit in the student section with me so it made the most sense. I text him in the 1Q "want me to get you in?" and he writes back "**** no sickest seats ever."

After the game we catch up and he's wearing a leis... turns out the loner was somehow front row in the endzone with Manti's crew from Hawaii. We still have no idea how exactly we got that ticket as it changed hands so many times before that afternoon. Go figure.

Sorry I can't help you track down where the ticket is haha. But no matter what they should be pretty sweet.

Haha pretty awesome story. My dad and brother had a somewhat similar (minus Manti) thing happen to them. They were at the Michigan game in 08 when it was raining, and a bunch of friends they were with ended up not wanting to go at the last second(wusses) cause of the weather. My dad and brother ended up with about 8 extra tickets and took the best ones which ended up being in the first row right by the tunnel.

There's no track around the field, at ND Stadium, so I can't imagine they would seat people on the grass behind the end zone. There would be no natural "barrier" to those people wandering onto the actual field of play.

Behind the south endzone/in front of sections 1 and 2 there are about 5 rows of bleachers on the gravel/pavement around the field. However, I would guess these seats would be distinguished by something on the ticket as in the rest of the stadium row 3 would be 3 rows up from the wall, and I doubt they would change the row numbering for 2 entire sections.

You can see what I'm talking about in this picture

Here is a seating chart looks to me like section 1 is the first section to the east of the tunnel so row 3 should be great seats not down on the field but still???? I was in the south end zone last season Section 19 row 15 I think it was Those were nice as well.

That's about where my brother's tickets are, as well. I went to the Western Michigan game, last year, and the view was very good.

He will be sitting right by the tunnel!! That's section 1, and three rows up. If you are sitting in the seat looking onto the field it is on the left of the tunnel. Lucky duck! Most of the faculty seating is in rows 1-6. I've sat in faculty seating, and once I fixed the head ref in the ER (Navy, November 12, 2005) and he gave me his tickets, we were in section 8. Actually, I've now had the opportunity to sit on both sides, and in each end zone, you really can't get a bad seat.

PS he should be able *if he's by the wall* to high five the players as they come out, but the band is in front of that wall. Since it's an endzone seat that part of the field doesn't have the "preferred seats" in front, so he's pretty high up because of the wall height.

I sat in section 1 in row 3 last year for a few of the games last year (share season tickets). They are the first row on the wall. The band is considered rows 1/2. Great seats you should have a blast.
