I was listening to a sportswriter who was driving to the Col. St. v. Idaho game. He said he asked Boise State's Coach Petersen how long he spent on the Coaches Poll. Petersen's answer: "5 minutes." That's a joke. Although, can you blame the guy?

These polls are a joke right now anyway. The real rankings want come out until around game 6 or 7, by then they should be pretty accurate. There is way too much football to play right now for anyone to rank teams. Guarantee at least 5 teams want be in the top 15 by the end of game 8.

Rankings at this point are a joke - Florida is playing its first game against team with a winning record (whatever division) the SEChas played it's non-conference record against: Troy, Charleston Southern, Florida Int., Northern Texas, Missouri State, Louisiana tech/lafayette/Monroe, Ball St., Jacksonville St., Memphis, Miami O., Florida Atl., Citedel, Western Kentucky, Ohio, Western Carolina, Rice..... This tells us they are how good. Okay all it tells us is that their confidence is they may not otherwise qualify many teams for bowl eligibilty.

Rankings are just an ordering of data, the ratings tell you
the real scoring ability difference between teams. Polls,
which are popularity votes, only can hint at actual diff-

The coaches' poll is a joke....they clearly hate us. Just because we only play one top-ranked team all year doesn't mean we ought not get no respect. We still have a brutal road to hoe. Let's see those SEC teams play the likes of UConn, Navy, Stanford and Nevada and then let's see how they make out.
