WalshND is now Eighty Deuce Vet. I found out this weekend that one of good friends from my time (back in the day) in a US Army Parachute Infantry Regiment, was killed in Iraq. He was good man, husband(14 years), father (3 girls 11-3) He was my friend and I miss him. I'm sorry but I'm just really struggling with this right now. Any way I have a new username. If you recognize my avatar you who I was.

Please keep my buddy and his family in your prayers. (If not to much to ask, please stick me in too)
Thanks, 82

Thanks Stone and HCTI. He really was a great guy (even though he was a Buckeye fan). I feel so bad for his wife and daughters. He and I played rugby together and served in Iraq together, lotta crazy stories there. This is really making my eyeballs sweat. He was killed by an IED while on patrol. It was his second tour in Iraq. He had also served a tour in Afghanistan, Operation Desert Storm, and Operation Just Cause. I guess his luck ran out.

It's sad that from time to time the tree of liberty must be refreshed with the blood of patriots.

Walsh, I've experienced the same thing. Good friend of mine was a Marine KIA Iraq. God bless his family as well as yours. I would have been over there but broke my ankle in high school had to have pins so they would not take me then. Was already signed up for delayed entry into the U.S.M.C. when I broke it. God bless all the men and Women Serving our country.

Regardless whether you support the war or not, Those Men and Women are doing there jobs over there so SUPPORT them!

Thanks for all your support. He was a devout catholic. Who would always drag me to Mass. I can still hear him yelling, "Walsh, get your lazy drunken Irish ass up!

I still have a rosary that he gave me as a Christmas gift while we where in Iraq.

Sorry man, you'll get through it though, it will just take some time. Keep your head up and remember the good times that make you laugh.

I really feel lost.

Like I said, just try to stay stong by doing whatever works best for you, church, family, helping others. Now the best thing that you could probably do in his memory would be to pass on the good will and strength that he gave to you. Weather that's to your children and family, his family, other soldiers, or just the common man.

My best friend in high school died in a plane crash coming back from a UT (tennessee) football game. His father had a small plane they flew to the games and crashed into a bridge on the way home. That was awful.

I have some shit do at the Fire Department tonight. But, after that the wife and I are taking our kids to do some Christmas shopping for his daughters.

This the second friend I've lost there (miss ya Hans). I want to go back in, but my wife just goes bonkers.
I hate that place (Iraq), but I'll never get it out of my head.
