He was only a starter for one year. But that one year they won (I stand by this and no, I won't let it go) a national championship. He's definitely behind Montana, Rice, Mirer, Powlus, Theisman....He's got to be somewhere in the top 20 , but not top ten.

I don't think the team having a bad year (series of years) can disqualify the QB from being considered one of the all time greats - or vice versa. Note especially Hornung's senior year.

Does anyone know anymore about when this thing is coming out? I am ready for it. While I sit here through this seemingly endless offseason just waiting for the season to start it would be great to be able to just watch the DVD every saturday leading up to the season... keeps me in my routine!

I agree I thouht McDougal deserved alittle more respect. He did lead us to vistory over FSU in South Bend. If I recall correctly he wasn't the starter at the beginning of the year but stepped in due to an injury. I honestly can not remember it was the first Notre Dame game I watched and from then on I loved Notre Dame.

Keving McDougal and Jarious Jackson

Keving McDougal and Jarious Jackson

were two clutch QB's. Jarious Jackson was the team. Put him under Holtz and I guarantee a National Title in 98. Not to mention the passing records he holds.

Kevin McDougal brought us back against BC in 1993. If it wasn't for our "D" and Pete Bursich...Keving McDougal is a hero that day for bringing us back and we go on to be national champs.

I'll agree with Arnaz Battle since he only played 2 games at QB....but I think KD and Jarious derseve their rightful spot amongst the greats.

Crucifying Pete Bercich for that BC game in 1993 is equivalent to that of the Steve Bartman situation.

Rick Minter's brilliant scheme that day allowed 41 points to BC. The DBs got scortched that day. Plain and simple. If Bercich makes that pick, yes, the game would have been over, but there were 59 other minutes that day that determined the loss.

It was a team effort and a very bad one that day defensively. It was a team loss.

I always really like Jarious Jackson back when he was the starter. I just remember that on third down it didn't seem to matter how many yards he needed, the guy always found a way to come up w/ the first whether it was through the air or on the ground. When I really started watching ND games religiously he was one of my favorite players for that.
