Wow, most had UCLA as the favorite to win it all. They also have Rich Chowlosky who is expected to be th #1 overall pick in next years MLB Draft. Reportedly, he was offered a scholarship to play QB at ND but opted to walk on to UCLA.

Taylor finished runner up in the NAIA series. Got beat by the 8 seed Tennessee Wesleyan. 21-3…they got waxed in the championship game.

I guess this is good?

Our pitching was awful but Crowell was considered a good prospect for the future. Didn't do well as a freshman starter but that's a big ask. Should become a solid starter but our pitching is so bad I don't know what to expect.

Super regionals now set and they show that non-power conference teams CAN win regionals. Cal Poly, Troy, Little Rock, and St John's all advanced without hosting. Just another data point but it makes me wonder what the advantage is of playing that ACC schedule. BTW only one ACC teams made it (North Carolina) with 9 getting bids and 3 hosting.

If we went back to the Big East for baseball would anyone else in the ACC really care?

Notre Dame gets $20 million a year from the ACC media deal. They wouldn’t get that from the Big East.

Not advocating leaving the entire conference for the Big East, just baseball. Media rights for ND baseball probably worth to 20 dollars.

Had dinner last night with a friend whose brother is an assistant for a powerhouse SEC program. He said pretty much every starter is making around $150K with a couple stars approaching $400K. Not quite sure the brother’s role, but he was involved in the recruiting department. A specific example was showing up at a car dealership for 30 minutes for a $50K check and a leased car of his choosing.

Idk what ND is paying, but I can’t imagine it’s even half those numbers

The son of one of my best friends growing up has a son who pitches in the SEC. He said coming off surgery, his son’s school’s biggest rival offered him a blank check to transfer to the rival. The kid stuck w/ his childhood dream school & it worked out great but the stories are insane. THat’s the tip of the iceberg.

ND added some portal additions:

Doesn't look like we got any good pitchers.

Radel is apparently going to be taken in the first 3 rounds of the MLB draft
