Playing a series at Clemson this weekend. Got swept by them last season, and ND has not won an ACC road game since May 18th, 2023. I’m not particularly optimistic.

That’s insane
Last season we finished last in the ACC with a 9-21 conference record. Got swept by Florida State, Clemson, Virginia Tech, NC State, North Carolina, and Louisville. Already swept by Wake Forest this season.

After this series vs Clemson we have 14 straight games in South bend..avoid the sweep this weekend, head back home and get things under control on home turf.

I miss Link Jarrett...I want to see this team succeed and I don't think we have the right coach. I thought when Jarrett was there ND was talking about doing upgrades for the baseball program. ND needs to start winning some games in ACC play.
Frankly, Stiffler should have been fired last year for how non-competitive the team was in ACC play. That’s continued over to this year.

If Indiana State and IU can figure out how to be perennial contenders for the NCAA BSB postseason, there is no reason ND can’t.

I don't want to hear complaints about the portal (though it is a problem). There's zero reason for the team to be this bad at hitting.

Avoiding a sweep seems like a herculean task for this team, considering they haven't won a single ACC road game (not a series, just ONE GAME) in 2 years.

They need to in order to weather the storm, because it's become more and more apparent that this will be Stiffler's last year. He has done just an absolutely terrible job in 3 years.

I’m being sensitive when I ask this — as I don’t wish anyone to lose their job (well, most) — but I assume ND will be moving on from Stiffler if this trend continues? They’ve drastically fallen since the Mainieri and Jarrett years

yeah, but ND needs to show some effort in the baseball program. The ACC is the second best conference, but the facilities are some of the worst nationwide. Mediocre standards would be a massive improvement.

Irish begin a 14 game homestand this week, 9 in the conference. Good time to salvage the season. We have a good record (11-6) but we have to at least play .500 ball at home vs the ACC and dispatch most of the midweek opponents to become viable.

Did beat Clemson today so we have at least one quality win.

Plus the RPI is looking really good. We play a tough ass schedule.

Run ruled AGAIN.

If we're 1-4 in our next 5 ACC games, I think Bevacqua just needs to pull the plug on this.

Being noncompetitive and a free conference win for other schools shouldn't be tolerated.

When Jarrett was here ND was talking about making improvements to the facilities. I haven't seen a single upgrade to the baseball program. I agree with you ND needs to some some effort in the baseball program, if they thought they were getting another Jarrett with Stiffler they were wrong.

Merck did say somewhere in his thread Bevacqua was at 82% funding for baseball upgrades.

Tim Prister said this morning he expects a coaching change will happen after this year

It must happen. Stiffler has set this program back big time. Mainieri was in Omaha ready to return to ND and Jack wanted no part of it. He thought he could get another Link and his decision proved costly. Look at the volume of strikeouts by this team, the amount of walks by our pitchers and the frequency of getting Little League run ruled. ND desreves better and hopefully AD Pete feels the same.

Is this well known or speculation? I hadn’t heard this.
