Thanks for the video. After see that, however, I think there are better prospects out there to go after. There are several things that stood out to me that make me weary on how he'll translate at the next level.

Most notably to me is his how high his stance is on defense. It literally looked like he was standing and his pads were HIGH. College offensive linemen would absolutely obliterate him. He also looks to lack speed. Those are just a couple things that I see right off the bat.

I did like the fact he always had his hands up and the fact he didn't give up on any plays.

well, technique can be taught. speed is another thing. i thought he had decent penetration on a lot of plays, but i'm not a talent evaluator either, so who knows?

I watched the first 90 seconds of this.

He moves very well laterally. I don't think speed is an issue for a kid his size, but you're right about the stance. His ass is WAY too high for a D lineman. Gotta get him lower.

Austin is better, Barksdale is better, but I think Wade is better than that of Josh Brent.

Let's just get all four.

Wasn't fast but you shouldn't expect that of someone his size. He actually seemed decently quick though. Positives I saw were his constant awareness to get hands up in a passing situation, and also persistence to get to the ball carrier. Even if he was a little late on the sack he was able to put the qb on his ass and maybe give him something to worry about next time he drops back.

Austin and Barksdale first, but the kid looks to be a good project

He gets stood up and pushed back a foot off the ball nearly every time. He is just so much stronger than the other kids that he throws them aside. He has to get a lot lower. I know as a former olineman this kid will get ate up. The oline is under his pads every time. Now saying that, if he learns to stay down and explode forward instead of letting the play come to him this could be a solid d-lineman. Pretty good pass rush too just a shitty first step.

They've got to get him. He has a strong interest.

He's very raw and can be taught, just like Josh Brent...but Wade is better.

Austin and Barksdale are tier one. Wade and Brent are tier two.

I'd take all four in a heartbeat.

As a line coach myself, i'd have to say that this kid is what we call "raw" talent. His technique's are terrible but that could be his coaching or his inability to listen and apply instructions. The two things that you first look for in a defensive lineman are the feet ( which he has very quick feet) and more importantly, his awareness. You'll see he almost instantly recognizes where the ball is going, and that is very rare. His downfalls are easy to see also. As earlier stated his stance is too high and he in turn comes off the ball way to high, however he does get good seperation. I think he has great potential. I love to see him in the blue and gold.

He tells this to the Oregon Rivals site after a visit to Oregon.

Not only does this kid want an offer, it sounds like if he gets one he's going to be Irish once he does. "Two others to fall back on"? AKA, ND is first choice but if they don't offer he'll settle for one of the Oregon schools.

Read between the lines with this kid. He's DYING for an offer.

On the list early of Irish fans all over the net, Wade has yet to receive a scholarship from Notre Dame. The Irish have been very selective so far, offering only a few of the nation’s elite, while keeping in contact with several others. Many believe Wade is one such elite recruit. Hailing from Oregon, he doesn’t see great competition, however he does test well. He has good quickness and even better strength, even though he’s a little on the smaller side at 6-foot-2 and 290 pounds. He is very aggressive and plays with an edge, and has the ability to break the first block and reach the quarterback. He isn’t as adept at finding the running back or holding the lane. Some think Wade is better suited at the offensive guard spot. Wade still has the Irish in his top five, despite not having an offer.
