At this point though, he should just let it rip. And he might, because if the lose, I think the following Monday he is out of a job. Charlie may not be alot of things, but he isnt stupid either, I have to think he opens it up.
Of course I thought that 5 weeks ago too.
ND wins in a close game... at least I hope! Who knows maybe we come out blazzing!
Come out blazing?!?
We haven't come out blazing since...
Ah, the hell with it.
Why would you watch a game that you think we can't win?
That doesn't make any sense! If you don't believe then don't watch!
The only way you would understand is if you have played a competive sport. If you go in a game and you don't believe your probably gonna lose.
Obviously we haven't done well but I still believe we can win every game..... That's why I watch! Maybe I'm delusional but as an ND fan their is no other option!
"Bottom line, to be kind of blunt, they wanted it more," Young said.
"I didn't think it was over [starting the fourth quarter], but it was looking like it was headed that way," linebacker Toryan Smith said.
"I didn't feel any emotion on the sideline," said Irish receiver Golden Tate, who posted 146 yards and two touchdowns. "Even I was kind of just, eh."

I am hoping that ND comes out fired up and fighting for their coach. USC would still have to make A LOT of mistakes to have it even close. If we hang with them till halftime it could be a close win for USC (10-13 points) but if we are down by 2 TD+ i think we lose by 40 easy!
As much as I would like to say ND 38 - USC 34...I think it will be USC 52 ND 10. Shaq Evans and Cierra Wood both decommit less then 24 hours after the game! :-(
I'm going to make a point that I hope no one jumps down my throat, but I should probably know better.
Before I start I want to make it clear that I am in no way picking us to beat USC.
But I am curious to see how this team plays in a game that you have to get up for. In other words, it is clear Charlie cannot motivate his players. They come out flat nearly every game. But against USC, you just cant come out flat. I just dont think it is possible. If you are not up for this game, you might as well not have a pulse.
Again I am not picking us to win, I am just interested to see how we play in a game that provides emotion as opposed to us trying to find it.
Rip away......

That is just a really stupid thing to say.
And why is it stupid? If you were a VERY talented college football player and seen players consitantly underacheive, coach is on the hot seat, and the team your commited too gets destroyed by the team in your back yard...what would you do?
