This is my 18th Draft, and the most stressful. Had my Notre Dame Jersey on my tribute to Quinn. Grief all damn day by Michigan, USCUM and Ohio State fans. To see Brady drop like that broke my heart. When the Dolphin didn't take him I was the joke of the room. But all is well, he's going to the Browns his hometown team and I wish him all the luck in the world. Now I need to see what Aaron Ross gonna bring my Giants.
Let's Go Dame !!!

when i read the title i thought you were his agent for a second or something. same thing happened to me. I went to my friend(usc fan, some friend huh?) house and he kept on poking fun at me for quinn not going in the top 10 and all that stuff. Hey atleast quinn has a brighter future. Unfortunatly mine and yours gmen took a usc guy, steve smith. Oh well, hopefully hes good.

when the dolphins didn't pick him, I quit watching and went to the fisher regatta. I couldn't watch it anymore. I was off watching bookstore by the time he actually got picked up. word spread very quickly through the crowd, needless to say.

hey brother,
A couple of points:
-I felt bad for Brady as well, but to me the joke was the Dolphins; I think they will be regretting that pick for some time (not just that they didn't take BQ, but there were some other guys they could have taken well before TG2);
-As tough as it was to see BQ go through that, there were a few positives that came from it: he showed all of the haters his stoicism - he acted with class and dignity once again; he did see the Browns give up ALOT to get him; and he got the a-hole fans to cheer him when he was drafted.

WTF was up w/ the idiots booing at the top of the draft (when the 5 high profile guys were featured)?

And, were they also booing Vick when he was introduced for the VT segment? That was what it sounded like, but nothing was said on NFL Network. If so, despite the stuff HE's done, it was a tribute to the victims of a terrible tragedy; if anyone was booing that is VERY SICK.

The bowl games have have an amazing effect on draft status. LSU beats ND, all the sudden Russell is the best QB prospect ever and Quinn is an inaccurate failure. Troy Smith wins the Heisman, puts up 6 yards of offense in the NC game, and goes from late
1st round-2nd round pick to total non-factor. The problem is that all these asswipe scouts/recruiters have to feel like they are unique and *discovering* or discounting someone.

exquisitely said! I couldn't agree more with both of these points.

I double pumped my fists and let out a large sigh of relief when the Dolphins passed on Quinn. As a man without a professional football team to cheer for, this draft held the future of my professional football rooting interest. Where Brady went is the team that would have my loyalty as far as the NFL goes. And I could NOT see myself supporting those teal and orange queers.

Let me preface what I am about to say by noting that not all New Yorkers are bad people. Unfortunately this will piss off a few NY residents that exist on this board and all I can say is "if it doesn't apply to you, then just ignore it..."

With that said, I was born and raised in New York (Long Island to be exact) and I am here to tell you, New Yorkers, by and large, are the biggest waste of fresh air on the planet. I moved to Tennessee 6 years ago and I can safely say I will NEVER go back with the exception of visiting my family that remains there. And honestly, even that task is done begrudgingly be cause the unfortunate fact is that my family, for as much as I have to accept them because they are my flesh and blood, are also annoying and abrasive New York A-holes!

I'm not surprised they booed Brady in the beginning of the draft. they also booed Jamarcus and I even heard a few booes for Frank Beamer and Bruce Smith when they came out on stage to discuss the VT tragedy. That's the kind of people most New Yorkers are. They are loud mouth morons. Booing Beamer and Bruce Smith and something as tragic as the Virginia Tech killings..... what a joke. The only time something is "sacred" to New Yorkers is when it directly affects them. Which is why they would go to the ends of the Earth to ridicule somebody who booed them for the 9-11 tragedy. But Virginia Tech didn;t affect them so they can be callous and abrasive in true NY fashion.

Screw NY.

I was wearing a ND shirt today, but the good news was the party I was at was only computer guys. It started after as the first round finished up and I heard on the radio that Quinn went 22nd. When I heard that I figure I heard that wrong. Remember last year after osu beat us and they said that troy smith was the best QB, where is he??? I just hope that Russell is a bust, but did anyone notice how many LSU players were drafted today? 4 in the first round:
1. Da Marcus russell
6. a DB
23. a WR
30. a WR
If thosed guys are really that good other then #1, then it is no surprise why they beat ND.

Good Luck to Quinn, I will be wishing the best for him, but still not a browns fan.

I think the Browns are officially my 2nd favorite team now (behind the Redskins). Any team that gets my favorite player and a guy that's fishing on the day he gets drafted is awesome in my book. I felt bad when they kept on showing the 4 year old Brady picture before Cleveland's first pick and then they didn't take him. But it all worked out. Good luck to him.

Go Irish!
Go Redskins!
go browns

I've seen enough drafts by now in my life to realize 1 thing for sure. There is no such thing as a "can't miss" prospect. For years and years now, i've listened to the likes of mel kipper, chris mortenson, john clayton etc. etc. tell the world how great akili smith or ryan leaf are gonna be. The bottom line is, it does'nt matter (only in $$$) where a player is drafted, they're going to get the opportunity to play in the NFL and show what they can do. Some of the best players in recent history were non-factors in the draft ie tom brady 199th and priest homes 6th round. How bout colston from the saints last year ( 7th rd). Brady will be much better that russell. I guarantee it!! I'm a huge Giants fan but as long as they don't play eachother..GO BROWNS!!

Didn't know where else to put this, so I will insert here. Found this tribute to BQ on YouTube. I guess these were the clips that Mayock and the rest of the 'blowhards' left on the editing room floor when they were piecing together the video evidence of Brady's accuracy issues. Be warned, 7 minutes of some awful (sarcasm) throws in this footage:

The shit that Mayock and all were showing, or the YouTube??

I have edited the earlier post to note the intended sarcasm when discussing the 'awful' throws in the vid. There are some great highlights of the past 2 seasons. Did BQ have some bad throws??? YEP, but so did Russell.

Mayock was going on ad infinitum about how Brady lifts his trailing leg when he throws, leading to accuracy issues. Then he found some throws where Brady was underthrowing receivers, or throwing behind - but I'm sure he couldn't find the same for Jamarcus.

It was nice of the NFL Network and ESPN to emphasize the missed throws, but there is something else that they didn't talk about very much, which drives coaches even more foul than incompletes:

INT's - and Russell had 8 against 28 TDs (on 340 Attempts: 1 INT every 43 ATTs); Brady had 7 against 37 TDs (on 467 ATTs - 1 INT every 67 ATTs). Gotta love protecting the football....

I was very sad for Brady thjat he didn't go third, but at least he got to go to the Browns. When he was dropping I was praying that the Lions would move up to get him because "You can't go wrong with Quinn I always say!" HE WILL be a great QB and every team that passed will say "WWWWhy did we let Brady Quinn go?"

BQ will be fine and got to go where he wanted to. His agent will make the Browns pay-up as they demonstrated BQ's worth to them by giving up the 2008 1st pick.
