I’ve only ever seen major a major racing series at Gateway so I can only imagine that the spectacle of the Indy 500 is greater than Daytona. On the nascar front while I totally understand the magnitude of what Daytona represents to nascar I enjoy the racing more (so would want to attend a race there more) at Martinsville, Darlington, Bristol, & Homestead.
If you haven't been, put it on your bucket list. Race fan or not, it's worth it for the experience. My wife doesn't care for racing, but she loves going to the 500 or qualifications just for the spectacle.

Man....remember in the good old days where Indy was the entire month of May? Used to fill the track on the 1st day of qualifying, and damn near be full on Sunday for day 2.

My mom would pull me out of school a day every May to go watch practice. The good ole days indeed

My dad used to take me down every carb day. Unfortunately, my senior skip day was in 96, and we were down there when Scott Brayton hit the wall and passed away

I remember the “real” good old days from the late 60”s and 70’s when the snake pit was the snake pit. The week leading up to the first weekend of qualifications drew good size crowds for practice.

Loved the Indycar race at Phoenix today. I hope that track stays a fixture on the Indycar schedule.

ND alumni Brandon Aubrey took a ride in the Indycar 2-seater before the Indycar street race in Arlington.

Attended the Arlington GP over the weekend, pretty awesome event. Walked right in Friday morning wearing my old Champ Car Officials shirt and also made it onto pit lane. Drivers loved the circuit. My only complaint was the expense. Still think Elkhart Lake's Road America and Barber Motorports road courses are the best bang and most fan friendly Indy venues. Next up for me in the 500, then Road America. The new Freedom 250 in DC supposedly is free to attendees, looking into that.
