"Look forward to prevent defenses and shootouts next year."

Pretty arrogant thing to say.

Go ahead, ban us. Then this place will be nothing but preaching to the choir.

I didn't feel the need to address the short comings of Davie and Ty, cuz I've heard ND fans recite the litany so many times, I thought you all knew them by heart.

We scUMers are here to remind you behinND fans of things you'd rather forget, like George O'Leary, 38-0, two-game blow-out-loss losing streaks to the mighty Beavers of Oregon State, and who has the winningest program in college football history.

It's true that Holtz never got caught at ND, but then Cheaty McSweatervest hasn't been caught at OSU. Personally, I think they're equally innocent. Just my opinion.

Pfft. You're not worth banning.

By the way, we're not at all afraid of outsiders coming in and pointing out Notre Dame's shortcomings. We're often the first to point them out ourselves. For example, Holtz's ethics problems were first brought up in this thread by TexasDomer and Aerosmith777, well before your oh-so-clever-and-insightful commentary on Holtz.

So no, you don't have to be part of the choir to be allowed to participate around here. See osu_fan. But just a tip... a little less vitriol, a little more intelligence. Yeah, flame wars are fun, but they don't really accomplish much.

From someone who actually PLAYED this great game of football, I'm going to tell you what I tell my fellow Domers that still love to hate on Willingham: Focus on what's ahead. Yogi Berra once said, "He's got a great future in front of him." Eyes forward.

This is like a Google's Greatest Hit List here. I'll play, though.

George O'Leary. It's 2006, man. No one cares anymore. All the other schools that hired him never picked up on the resume either. It got by Syracuse, Georgia Tech, the San Diego Chargers and Georgia Tech AGAIN.

38-0? 17-10 and 28-20. Even more recent and all three scores mean nothing come September. I'm not sure what your point is here. Hey, let's talk about Raghib Ismail special teams touchdowns as long as we're heading back into memories past.

Oregon State? How's Nebraska, Texas and USC grab you? Starting a bowl streak of your own maybe? You've got a bowl win this millenium against Florida, though. Cant' argue there. I'm sure a lack of bowl game victories was bound to be a response at some point. But at this point, we're pissing into hurricane winds anyway.

As far as winning percentages go, that's awesome. Maybe when the world ends you'll get a trophy if you're still in first. I'm sure Bobby Knight and those billions of Asians could really care less. In this what have you done for me lately world of text messages and fast food, we're talking about win percentages? It didn't save Davie or Ty and sure as hell isn't doing much good for Carr up there. Ask Lloyd Carr if he gives a frog's fat ass about winning percentages.

Well, that is sweet. I can't thank you enough for all of the fond ND memories that you have posted here. You Allies of Ann Arbor are a classy and heart warming bunch. By the way, how'd that bowl game go for you guys this year? I can honestly say that ND lost to better than what you played.

Best winning percentage in history? You know what, congratulations to you boys. You must wake up every morning with a great big grin on your faces just knowing that your beloved Skunk Bears own the greatest winning percentage in history.

As important as your winning percentage is to you, I measure success of a school by National Chamionsips. How many does scUM have? I'll give you a second or two to think. Now, how many does ND have? Again, a second to think.

Times up, WE WIN!!!!

I know that you BOYS really love your Wolverines, and I admire you for coming onto an ND site and trying to flame us (although I don't see why you wouldn't want to discuss UM football with UM FANS). But the next couple of years are going to test your love of your team. We'll see what kind of fans you are when LLLLLoyd's Skunk Bears are mathmatically eliminated from NC hopes after just 2 games and year in and year LLLLLoyd is turning in 4 or 5 losses. When this happens, remember to lock up all of the flamables near the house and to park the car in the garage (I've noticed that when things go bad in Ann Arbor that things tend to burn and cars end up with their tires in the air. ) You must be SOOOOOO Proud!!!!

Hey, since we're on the subject of ancient history as opposed to current events:

Anyone know whatever happened to Larry Harrison Jr, the 6-3, 300 pound defensive linemen that liked to run around Ann Arbor and beat his meat on people's front porches? Whatever happened to THAT guy? I doubt he's still in school. Probably wearing a uniform of a different kind. Orange sweats or white jacket? I'll bet he'll be lying on his resume too.

Honestly, I'd rather open my front door and find the tenth level of hell waiting there than a 300 pound man pleasuring himself on my front porch.

Michigan Player Suspended After Indecent Exposure Arrest
Harrison Charged With Indecent Exposure
December 8, 2004

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Michigan defensive lineman Larry Harrison Jr. was suspended from the team after he was arraigned Tuesday in Ann Arbor on one count of indecent exposure, according to a Detroit newspaper.

Police arrested Larry Harrison Jr., a 20-year-old defensive tackle from Detroit, outside a home on South Division Street Monday night.

Police Describe Arrest Of Flasher Suspect

"He was seen in the area last night ... and was observed committing the crime of indecent exposure," said Lt. Chris Headley, of the Ann Arbor Police Department.

Harrison, who weighs more than 300 pounds, reportedly fits the description of a man who has exposed himself at least 16 times around the University of Michigan Central Campus since August, police said

Former U-M player is found guilty
December 8, 2005

A former University of Michigan football player has been found guilty of indecent exposure and now faces trial on a more serious charge of being a sexually delinquent person.

Larry Harrison Jr., who was a defensive tackle for the Wolverines when he was arrested Dec. 7, 2004, was convicted of the misdemeanor charge by a Washtenaw County Trial Court jury, county Prosecutor Brian Mackiesaid.

A second trial will begin Monday on the sexually delinquent person charge, a felony punishable by one year to life in prison. The judge also could sentence Harrison to probation if he is convicted of the felony, Mackie said. The jury of six men and six women deliberated about two hours before the verdict was announced, said Harrison's attorney, Anthony Chambersof Detroit.

Harrison, 21, was arrested by Ann Arbor police, who had staked out neighborhoods near the university and downtown areas after a series of indecent exposure incidents.

Harrison also faces three more misdemeanor indecent exposure counts and three interrelated sexually delinquent person charges. No trial dates have been set on those.

Harrison transferred this year to North Carolina A&T in Greensboro, N.C., where he played football, Chambers said

Turns out he's wearing an NC A&T uniform.

Way to go Larry. Beat and mistreat those MEAC offensive linemen the way you did yourself and you'll end up in the NFL someday. But be sure to pull your socks up and follow the uniform requirements Paul Tagliabue says or else you'll be in trouble.

It never ends....

Un-Freakin Believable. I am still crying.

As "hard up" (sorry) as we are for a DT, I don't think he sounds like ND material.

Yeah, let's not forget Oregon State, the team that beat ND twice in recent bowl games.

They have players being arrested for assault, players involved with gay sheep and guys trying to pay for cabs with marijuana.

This is all great stuff.

i completely agree. I also feel the same way about OSU. As soon as they found out about their b-ball coach giving money to a foreign recruit, they fired him without question. Same with any other violation. They discipline has always been right away and by the OSU administration.

I'm assuming this is a positive "reference" of me, so i'll roll with that and put in my two cents. While my posts may seem, how do i say this...."against the crowd", I'm only saying what I think. Not once have I insulted this site, the posters/users, and Notre Dame in general. I'm only participating in the "debate" and stand firm in my opinions. However, that doesnt mean i cant respect the opinions of the other users. I value their opinions and am interested in what they have to say.

Yes "Jigs" let's not forget Oregon State, the team that routed ND twice in recent bowl games. When your pussies all bleed about how USC gets fat on its weak PAC 10 schedule, it's OSU (and Oregon, quack, quack) that you're whining about.

So ND can't beat a team whose best players molest sheep.

Man , the Irish are mighty these days. "Shame, shame on you Notre Dame..."

Can't CW scheme against ruminating quadripeds?

Or are the Irish players as dumb and gay as they look and act? I mean, BQ's sis is getting done by a buckeye, the very definition of a useless nut...

Is this guy serious? Wow. Talk about an intelligent post.

My dog leaves more sense in tightly coiled piles on the lawn.

You come here, fan another school (which is fine), and can't have a sensible conversation. You flame our recruits, talk about nonsense that happened five years ago, thus making me play the Larry Harrison Jr. card.

Do you want to start talking about football now, or would you rather use profanity and call Notre Dame players homosexuals? Because not even the Oregon fans went that deep under the whale crap.

Can you discuss football, sensibly and unbiased? I can. Give me a topic about Michigan Wolverine Football to discuss with you and I'll do it, unbiased, truthfully and right down the middle. Better yet, let's talk Notre Dame Football. Anyone here will tell you I don't sugarcoat this team. I'll tell it like it is. So let's rock and roll. What do you say?

Can we talk football like grownups or am I going to get hit with a tsunami of tasteless mother insults and gay jokes? 7 months is an awful long time to wait for this game. Might as well talk some sense until then.

(Also, the sheep screwers didn't beat ND in the bowl games. The Fiesta Bowl was Chad Johnson, Dennis Erickson and his band of criminal personal foul dancers. The second game was a battle of two 6-5 teams that no one really cared about anyway, including myself. They should have played in the game anyway. There wasn't a head coach at the time.)

Agree 100%. Though I have no love for the Buckeyes (not because have beaten us the previous 3 meetings, rather I grew up in Cleveland and had some bad experiences with some OSU fans I ran across at the bar one evening), you have presented great posts, made great arguements, and represented your team in an appropriate manner.

Now for the Ann Arbor contigent. Your repititious posts are old and boring. And I'll say this once....STAY THE HELL OFF OF MY FRONT PORCH!!!!

HAIL TO THE FORNICATORS!!
HAIL TO THE MASTERBATERS!!
HAIL HAIL TO MICHIGAN!!

The biggest mistake Tressel made was Maurice Clarett. He was a prima donna in high school and he acted like a spoiled brat once he got on campus. His actions on the sidelines against Northwestern that year portrayed what kind of player he was. He was a FRESHMAN screaming at his position coach? Sorry, that wouldn't cut it where I come from.

I'm of the opinion that off the field, this program has taken leaps and bounds from where Cooper had it. But the Clarett incident was clearly the most publicized of any in a while.

My favorite Clarett story is when he was drafted by the Broncos, he didn' t like the way that the strength coach talked to him an demanded that they fire him. The coach was Rich Tuten by the way a guy who played for the Bronco's forever so I just had to laugh at the balls that this guy has.

OSU’s Clarett will start after disagreement
Wednesday, October 9, 2002

COLUMBUS, Ohio (REUTERS) — Ohio State freshman Maurice Clarett won’t be disciplined for his sideline outbursts during a victory at Northwestern last weekend.

Coach Jim Tressel said Tuesday the 18-year-old running back is expected to start in Saturday’s home game against San Jose State.

Clarett clashed with running backs coach Tim Spencer during the fifth-ranked Buckeyes’ 27-16 win.

Clarett declined to speak with reporters after practice Tuesday. Ohio State spokesman Steve Snapp said the running back was displeased with questions from the media in the last week about his strained relationship with other team members.

TV cameras caught Clarett and Spencer yelling at each other. Clarett also could be seen exchanging words with a teammate another time. A close-up showed tears rolling down his cheeks after he was taken out after losing two early fumbles.

“Maurice is a competitive young man. I think he’s probably pretty embarrassed about the fumble situation,” Spencer said Tuesday. “As a coach, my responsibility is to get the best out of my guys and make sure that they’re doing what they need to do. And I need to tell them when they’re not doing something, and sometimes you have to be stern to get your point across. That’s what happened. Maurice is a competitive guy. He sort of fought back.”

Tressel said Spencer “can be pretty forceful,” and the confrontation came in the heat of the moment.

Tressel said part of the problem was that the argument was televised, therefore amplifying what often happens on most teams — a sideline disagreement.

“That’s a reality that a guy like Maurice Clarett, who all of a sudden has had a lot of notoriety and so forth,” the coach said. “It’s an awareness thing that the camera’s going to follow you when you’re not even part of what is happening.”

Clarett rushed for 140 yards and two touchdowns on 29 carries but also lost a third fumble late in the game.

Spencer said there were two brief confrontations with Clarett, the first after Clarett was told by Spencer to move back from the sidelines and did not. The second came after Clarett’s second fumble.

“It’s my job to teach him, ‘Hey, this is what you do,”’ Spencer said. “Sometimes we all have to bite our tongue and take whatever we get.”

Clarett has become the No. 1 offensive weapon for the Buckeyes. He has 715 yards rushing, and his average of 143 yards is fifth in the country. He already has 12 touchdowns, among the highest totals ever for an Ohio State freshman, with seven regular-season games remaining.

Clarett has accounted for one-third of the Buckeyes’ points and almost half of their 26 touchdowns.

“Maybe he has too much pressure, but I think he’s the kind of guy who can handle it,” free safety and captain Donnie Nickey said. “He’s intelligent. He knows what he’s got to do.”

Another Ohio State captain, strong safety Michael Doss, said the situation was blown out of proportion.

“A lot of people are really trying to make something out of nothing right now,” he said.

Spencer said it was Tressel’s decision to put Clarett back into the lineup after their confrontation.

Tressel said he wasn’t nearly as worried about the harsh words between player and coach as he was about Clarett’s three lost fumbles.

“We have to make sure there isn’t any more of that,” he said.

OSU 14, I remember watching this game like it was yesterday.

Tim Spencer is now with the Chicago Bears. To have the stones to coach in the NFL, I'd say he's probably an intense personality and was back then.

I remember the two fumbles early in the game, but didn't recall a third later on. What stuck out most about this game was that OSU struggled with NU that night and Clarett's outburst becoming the story. ESPN had a camera on him the rest of the night, regardless of what was occuring in the game.

Clearly, did not have enough discipline from adults from birth to age 18 and he is now suffering for it as an adult.

Maybe this announcement snuck under the radar but Dennis Erickson was named football coach at the University of Idaho. Based upon past experience, this will necesitate a reshuffling of many of the "Most Dispicable Coaches" lists. I can just see the headlines in the local papers there: ERICKSON ARRIVES IN MOSCOW. PROMISES VANDALS WILL BE ON THE MOVE! If they only knew how prophetic that would be!!!
