... And while we could use some more championships, we have been the most consistent team in college football over the past 50 years.

Don't know how you define consistent but:

According to Stassen UM has the 5th best record over the past 50 years by Winning Percentage after NU, OSU, PSU, and OU.

By Games Won UM places 7th behind those 4 and Bama and Texas.

I agree with the 3 loss seasons comment. Texas fans like to beat the drum for Mack Brown winning 10 game/season but he usually loses 3. Not a mark of excellence in my book. For programs that historically have won roughly 75% of there games (only UM and ND) 9-3 in today's 12 games season is historically - average.

So with guys like him and May, don't email them, call them, or link their articles. Nothing will infuriate him more than being ignored.

Couldn't agree more, BGIF. Once you begin to ignore these TV and writer dopes, your life is that much better as a sports fan.

I'd rather be consistently 9-3 than 5-6. Notre Dame competed last year, in victory and defeat. Hopefully that continues. If you're competing and not getting blown out by 38 poiints or shut out at home by Florida State, a couple of those 9-3 seasons can be 12-0 with some luck and a few breaks.

V V, you think we're happy with a three loss season? Sure, we're happy about progress and what we saw on the field. But those losses made nobody happy except you and Mark May.
