thats why i am not worried about this loss, i never expected an NC this year, i predicted a 8-4 season with a good chance at double digit wins, so far my prediction is still intact, would i have liked to have seen 11-0 heading into sc sure who wouldn't, but thats simmply asking way too much of a team this young that had nobody ahead of them to show them the ropes; they are all learning on the fly much like brady quinn had to do, and he didnt breakout until his junior year. Expect breakout years next year and jc's senior year, and after that we will have dayne to step in and take the reigns and pick up right where we left off.

Thank you subway for the link. It is refreshing to read a fair, realistic evaluation of the team without the emotional rage I have been reading the last three weeks.

Coach, you were "dead on" with your point that everyone on this site needs to read this recap.

Finally, props to you mick2! We all need to put things back in perspective here. This was not a NC contending team this year (too young, not deep enough, coming of a 3-9 season,ect...) and a weaker schedule was not going to change that.

We all love the Irish! When we lose or even play poorly, we can discuss the program without this tone of rage I have been reading. Please guys, calm down! I can see improvement. We just have to show some patience. The attitude of venomous hate that is flooding this site is not going to help.

Great article! I missed the game, unfortunately or fortunately I don't know. That's why I decided to join this forum because I am beginning to see less of the games. But, anyways, one thing I saw in the Box Score is the game that Ringer had. We have to do something to not allow 201 yards again. That makes it almost impossible to win. That being said, it's a new week, go Irish!

Good recap! I agree 8-4 is expected! MY only thing is the OL should of inmproved a lot more...these guys are not a bunch of Ty/Davie 3star bums...they are high profile OL recruits that have consistantly underachieved. Which has to go back to Latina, right?

Next to the FG Goal/Extra Point Team, I don't think anyone can argue that the OL is still one of the biggest problems this team has. I, unlike some of my brothers on this site, do believe that some improvement has been made. Last year, we could not run block or pass protect. Pass blocking has improved immensely this season.

That being said, I believe that CW really needs to evaluate whether Latina is the right guy for his job. He clearly does not seem to be having the success he had before coming here.

There is a difference between being upset that Notre Dame lost and being dissapointed. Of course I'm upset that they lost but life goes on. However, I am dissapointed to still see a lack of emotion. I still think this team is too young to really understand some of the rivalries and emotion that is involved. As we know, there are still some guys out there that have the fire. I feel bad that they can't play beside someone with that same fire.

Where are the bad asses along the Oline like Jeff Faine and Aaron Taylor? Those guys were just flat out f'ing nuts on the field - just plain SCARY! Why can't we seem to get the snarling, spit spewing, teeth gnashing, kick-ass, bad MO FO linemen anymore? We have over 13' tall and almost 700 pounds of linemen on the right side in Young and Stewart and we can only muster .7 yards per carry NET?!? That is not a matter of size or talent in my book - it is heart and emotion. Guys like Faine and Taylor didn't just block, they wanted to plant the defensive linemen 6 feet under.

Bring Faine and Taylor back to give these guys a little clinic on how to be scary maniacs on the offensive line.
