First thread start for me, yeah!

So I am going nuts trying to figure out what video games to get the kids. I figure the forum here has some expertise I can tap! My kids like everything, real wide range of interests and not psycho over anything in particular.

Wii and DS/3DS

9 year old boy - Madden and Pro Wrestling for 3DS, already has Mario Cart (classic), Lego Star Wars, Lego Harry Potter (both), Lego battles, some Pokemon game

5 year old girl - Inheriting the DS, need some games for her pretty bad. All little girl games look lame to me so I have a real hard time sifting through stuff for her.

Locked into Dance Party 4 for Wii as something they can probably enjoy together and seems popular.

Lego Batman 2 and Super Mario Bros 2 for 3DS have been requested but not very emphatically.

Also saw someone posting dozens of games for sale on SD cards for DS, super cheap. Is that legit? Can I get these downloaded and warehouse them on a computer and dump games on SD cards to control content and keep them from being overwhelmed? Seems to make sense in theory but seems to good to be true.

THANKS in advance for saving me a bunch of time and money! Reps are the best reward, yo.

And this link as a sign of goodwill - NFL and NCAA jerseys for cheap, adult sizes only unfortunately. I'm loading up on #5.

hey, they might have this game already, but 'new super mario bros' is probably the best game i've played since super mario 3. You should really REALLY make sure they have it. Plus, the whole family can play at once on one screen.

edit: i see they asked for New Mario 2 on 3ds, so i'm guessing they have the first one on wii.

Get them an instrument or a bike.

This generation of kids are going to have significant eye problems as adults considering how much time they spend in front of tv's and computers.

I'm with Wooly. Anything but computer games. Everything in moderation, but something that will stimulate the body and mind, not just the eyes, fingers and thumbs LOL...

My thoughts.....
Boy - about the right age for camping, fishing, hunting. If you're not a hunter type (I'm not much either), camping gear for backyard adventure, mountain bikes, fishing poles, etc..

Girl - not much help here. If video games, the dance and exercise ones are very popular and keeps them off the couch.
