He is experiencing the Appalachian Trail, and I believe still is. I think he said it would carry him thru the season and he would rarely if ever be on.

Was there ever any doubt Matt Leinart was an asshat?

I remember when I saw the above cover of an ESPN magazine. In the article Leinart basically went around to all of the NFL owners that passed on him in the draft and asked, "Why did you pass on me? You guys are gonna feel pretty dumb in the future." What a tool. His career sure panned out like just about every other USC QB.

Every player says stuff like that. Leinart is a jerk, but not because he was confident in himself.

I agree that confidence is good, but the guy was walking around like he was something special even before he took a snap at the NFL level. It backfired, as we've all seen. I think thats what made him a tool.

I saw on the ESPN bottom-of-the-screen-crawl earlier that Leinart got cut by the Bills. I said to myself "Didn't that guy win a Heisman?" I'd almost feel bad for him, if he wasn't a USC bagga-douche.
