According to the latest issue of Blue and Gold Illustrated:

After the USC game, Matt Carufel's father went up to James Aldridge and said, "My son is going to be blocking for you next year."

Per Aldridge to the BGI staff.

When I read that, I wanted to put the pads on myself.

Didn't Aldridge slip news about Jones as well? Glad to see you're excited James, but keep your mouth shut. Let your future classmates have their moment in the sun. :)

Aldridge is sort of the ambassador of the class, as he was one of the first if not the first to commit.

I don't think I'd be able to keep what's going on over there a secret. It is far too exciting.

Young and Carufel would be incredible together for four years.

If there's one shortfall of our offense this season, it's been the short yardage running game.

Imagine in a few years.

Jones(imagine the options on the goalline)

I really like Darius Walker, but Aldridge is a game breaker. He has the potential to bust a big one with every touch. And he lowers his head and shoulder into tacklers.

I like his size, his ability and his jovial attitude towards being about ND. To have those five in front of him would be awesome.

While Aldridge is very outspoken he is a great cheerleader for ND. He attends just about every home game and his enthusiasm has got to rub off on the other recruits. Besides, he has the numbers to back up his bravado. So I say let Sir James go on. He is doing a great job of selling ND and he means what he says.

I wasn't serious. I'm glad he's excited and he's obviously been a great recruiter for ND. I was simply joking about him leaking news about a couple guys and stealing their thunder.

Don't forget Schwapp.

Charlie Weis absolutely loves the kid and with him getting in so much game experience as a true freshman, you'll be hard pressed not to find him on the field in these situations as he progesses even further.

He's taking his freshman lumps this year with the fumble and a couple botched players and it will only make him even stronger.

Yeah, I like Schwapp. It slipped my mind when projecting a few years out that Schwapp is a true frosh.

How about Schapp lined up at FB with Schmidt as a wing on the goal line?

I'm not forgetting him. I was imagining a giant powerful goalline package. Prince will be very key in getting there.

yeah, I must confer that Charlie Weis is proving "the can't recruit top talent myth" wrong. I think this is just the first of many great classes. I look forward to the day when Notre Dame just reloads every year. I'm hoping they get some more help on defense (LB's in particular).
