He just commented Notre Dame after Michigan has 8 "cupcake games".
Next 8 games:
Michigan State - 2-0, but struggled to beat Idaho and gave up 20 points to Eastern Central Michigan Tech A&M.
Purdue - 2-0, but opened against I-AA Indiana State and then needed overtime to beat Miami... of Ohio, that is.
Stanford - 0-2 after losses to Oregon and San Jose State, with a realistic shot of losing to Navy later today.
UCLA - 2-0, but opened against a depleted Utah and then looked less-than-impressive against Rice.
Navy - 2-0 after close wins against the mighty football powerhouses of East Carolina (5 points) and Massachusetts (1 point).
North Carolina - 0-2. Lost to Rutgers, then got demolished by Virginia Tech. Oh, and lost to Rutgers. And I almost forgot, they lost to Rutgers too. RUTGERS!
Air Force - 0-1, and yet by taking Tennessee to the wire, they look better to me than every one of the 2-0 teams listed above.
Army - C'mon. It's Army. Don't make me waste the bandwidth by even looking them up. It's Army.
That's 8 unranked teams. Total combined record of 8-5, not counting Army, because again, I am NOT wasting the bandwidth looking them up. The most impressive game played by ANY of them thus far was Air Force's LOSS to Tennessee. 5 of these will be in South Bend as well.
Looks like 8 cupcakes to me. Notre Dame has NO business losing to ANY of these teams. If we lose any of these, we deserve all the scorn that Mark May can muster.
And for the record, Mark May is an idiot, but not because he said Notre Dame has 8 cupcakes coming up.
