Alright, it all starts tomorrow. Have you all been making sure that you're boss & co-worker(s) notice that you're not feeling so well? That way when you call in sick tomorrow, you'll be believable!

I was curious how you are all going to break away from work or school to watch the games. Will you be forced to take a personal day, sick day, vacation day, skip altogether or what?

I've been in outside sales for the last 13 yrs, so I'm lucky that I have a pretty flexible schedule, but I realize some of you have to get creative by bringing a tv to work or watch streaming video on your work computer.

Damn it...I don't have a legit excuse until Friday. Going to my brothers wedding in Pennsylvania. Crap...what's a boy to do? :)

i dont need to make up an excuse...the games at 2:35 PM ET on Friday, and my school gets out at 2:30. I live right next to WHS so it wont be a problem sprinting home (faster than Armando Allen) and turning on the TV. At most, I'll miss 30 seconds

2:30??? When I was in HS, we were out at 3:20. Are you in some 'specialized' HS for BANKERS????

thats how most of the schools at least in the eastern part of Mass. do it. The day starts at 7:30, 8:35 for most students though and we end at 2:30

what about the rest of the games? That's what's cool about the opening rounds of March Madness, all the games are important & everyone's watching for an upset or just seeing how their brackets play out.

Of course, the ideal thing to do (so I am told), is to spend Thurs. & Friday in Vegas at a sports book. That way you can watch & listen to EVERY game at the same time. Of course, you can place a wager on the games legally while you're there...which is nice. And between games, you can check out the casino action. I know folks that make the trek out to Vegas every year specifically for the tourney.

im actually not filling out a bracket this year...i dont want to jinx ND. I'll watch the other games, but i dont care enough about the outcome (other than ND's future opponents) to get out of school early to watch them. Last year the B.C coaches daughter was in our english class and my teacher (he was a HUGE 'Cuse and college bball fan) let us watch that game which was ending during class. We saw her on TV sitting behind the bench and my teacher was so excited.

Well, I missed school today, and I'm going to miss it tommorow so...The idea of me missing Friday isn't going to work. I also have baseball practice every day of the week right after school. I'm gonna have to get someone to tape it for me...and then try to completely avoid anything notre dame if possible untill I get to see the tape...that way, its just like I was watching it at 2:30...Thats the best I can do.

That's not physically possible, LOL!

I used to just skip altogether after I got my driver's license. The best ever was the industrial tech class freshnman year in HS where the day's project was to create a better TV antenna so the TV could effectively pick up a clear signal of the local CBS station. We just drilled a hole in the metal window frames and stuck the wire from the TV into the window frame. I worked great. There were only about 15-18 kids in that class, but after other students found out what was going on we probably had around 25-30 students in the classroom watching the games.

I've also been layed off twice the week of the opening round games, so while it sucked to be layed off at least it was a convienient week to happen.

I think in the future I might have to take advantage of my best friend. He's a mortician and assistant funeral directer, so I might have to have him get me a flyer from a funeral that took place the day of the games and say that a family friend died or something.
