This guy was a beast out there. Da boyz from Hawai'i at linebacker are pure warriors. I'm glad he did not go to a PAC-10 team. Tired of seeing U$C get the best Hawai'i has to offer. His relentless attacking reminded me of Chris Zorich.

I love that he made the best of his plays he was in, just wanting to smack people around. look forward to seeing more of his play this season!

Did anybody else notice the running back got lit up every time Te'o got his hands on him?

Yeah, Teo looks like a run-stopper. Can't wait to see him on the field more. It's going to suck to see him go on his mission and be without him for two years, he's already become one of my favorite players.

This guy can hit. That RB had a look on his face, what was I hit by.......... I loved the sound of that hit. He should be in there more often. He also caught the QB from behind.......

That was amazing. If you watched the replay, Te'o came flying out of nowhere and smoked Kaepernick from behind.

Kid looked good. Really good. Another ten pounds on that frame, he'll be a once-in-a-generation Mike Linebacker

For what its worth, he said he has not decided what he is going to do about his mission, and not all missions are 2 years.

ALL missions are two years. Anything else is just volunteer work. A mission is 2 years

A mission isn't strictly limited to the standard characterization of spending a year or two away from home -- and in Te'o's case, away from football.

"It's always your choice," he said. "You have a choice to do what you want to do. But there's always consequences to every choice you make, whether it be good or bad. So whatever choice I make, there are going to be consequences. I have to be aware of what those consequences are and make sure it's in line with what the Lord wants."

I get missionaries riding bikes all over Michiana. He can saved my ass for 2 years while he plays football - watching him was sorta spiritual. I lived in Idaho, my brothers lived in Utah - we are back home now (Elkhart, Granger, & Niles) - I had mormon in-laws - I know where LDS church is in Mishawaka. Stay, play, pray, and bear his testimony in opposing QBs. I bet some will swear they saw God.

TE'O is already on his mission. Mormon boy at the most popular Catholic Univeristy in the world. If he can introduce others to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints at ND then my God consider mission served (4 year mission :).....

Who cares about his mission yet, its his decision and will not effect THIS season at all..... just keep him knocking heads this year and im happy. next season is a very long way off, and he has to do what is right for him.

i just watched the highlight video and I still can't calm down after his one huge hit. I see him running back 1, probably 2 interceptions this year for TDs

As a catholic who hasn't been to church in a few weeks, I will volunteer to become a Mormon if Manti sticks around for 4 straight years. (as long as I can still drink) Seriously, he is going to be a man among boys before we know it. We have great LBs, but in a few plays he showed the killer instinct we have still been lacking.

Of all the plays he was in, the one i was most impressed with was when he came in clean on a blitz, missed the tackle and was able to recover to get the tackle 6-7 yardsdownfield.

Agreed. That was great.

Manti hits noticeably harder than any player Notre Dame has had in decades. Every time he laid a hit on somebody, you heard it.

That play was good he showed his speed, but I'm more impressed with how he read the screen pass perfect and laid the hit on that Nevada player. He is a true linebacker and I think he should start over Toryan Smith.. Speed and read wise advantage Te'o..

Agreed. That was great.

Agreed.. He makes those hard crashing hits.
