Does anyone watch this show? Man vs Food? Any shows in your local area and have you tried any of the "challenge dishes?"

Well they did a show here in Albuquerque, and they had a piece on the Travis from K and I diner in Albuquerque. I promised my boys we would go there before I returned to work (after a 2 month sabbatical) and today is the day. I will let you know how we do. :)...I'll try to remember pics...

I watch the show religiously and on Netflix... I really just can't get enough. I've gone to a few places (the giant donuts around Austin/San Antonio, the burger place in Columbus and Premantis in Pittsburgh), but I'm kind of scared of the challenges. My stomach and metabolism are not what they used to be.

Oh and he got FATTT  I think it's why he doesn't do the challenges himself anymore.

I've been to the place in Annapolis where he did a 6lb. milkshake and a 1lb. burger in a hour. I don't understand how you can fit that much dairy in you.

ClausentoTate is right, as there are more episodes you can see him getting fatter and fatter. They should do a second part of the show where he works all the calories off.

I wish I was able to do some of those challenges, but I'm not built for it anymore after I had my digestive system rejiggered.

He now has the best job now that he doesnt do challenges. He still gets to travel around and eat the best food, but not have to eat the massive quantities that made him gain so much weight.

I am from Pittsburgh and have eaten at Quaker Steak but never did the suicide wings that he did. Too hot for me, and I like spicy foods.

The show was much better when he did the challenges and not some local person.

Yeh I love the show.
I live in Knoxville, and he did a show at this little hole-in-the-wall barbeque places on the river...they have a massive bbq pork burrito....i didnt eat that, but had some other of their food and hated it....i think im the only person here that doesnt like their food.

I have seen the show quite a few times, and believe it or don't I actually tossed up my soup after watching one of the episodes. The gluttony is unreal. I went to the Travel Channel website and read some posts on the Man vs. Food forum. Many posters were warning him that he was on a path to quick death.

Another show I would like if it weren't for the host sounding like a friggen pig while he chews is "Bizarre Foods." There too, I read a forum where most of the posters were complaining about the loud clacking pig noises the host makes when he chews.

chuckle. I don't watch that show anymore because of his pig sounds.

Well I am coming out of the food coma, finally! Man that was not fun- it was a 8k calorie gut bomb. I to-go boxed the rest of the Travis however, may toss it....as Bambi said ...gluttony.

My wife and I love that show... I know I can handle the heat challenges... I am known as "that guy" when it comes to spicy food... the hotter the better... no heat? Not my kind of food... but some of the challenges size wise are just scary... the one in Puerto Rico with the steaks and fries and mushrooms... that one could kill somebody...

I like Triple D better honestly... We have a diner in town that was featured on their route 66 episode... BEST BURGER EVER... on such a different level I have no point of reference for it... it stands alone.

I agree with Veer that the show was better when Adam did the challanges.

I've actually been to Louis' Lunch & Modern Apizza in New Haven before it was on the show (Neither has a food challenge though)

I like that show too.

By the way, had my first 5 Guys cheeseburger. Very good, outstanding even, but I was kind of pissed at how expensive it was. I think I will stick to In-n-Out. Without the soggy fries. And that animal style or whatever the hell ACamp calls it is just a pile of silly gluttonous crap. It's like taking a bad idea, and making it worse. You scare me ACamp. If not for pics of your good looking wife, I would think you are goofy. I recently discovered the McDonald's angus burger is fairly good too. But that's another thread.

I've made it a point to stop at a few of the Indianapolis joints featured on both MvF and DDD.

Bubs Burgers, where Richman tried to eat 4 ginormous Big Ugly burgers to win the challenge, was phenomenal. I barely managed to eat one Burger, but dang it was phenomenal. Also on that show was Gray Brothers cafeteria in Mooresville. My family has been eating there since I was young and they make the best pies in Indiana (outside of Amish country in Northern Indiana).

From DDD I've only been to Triple X in West Lafayette, but for actually being in West Laffy, they've got some of the best and most creative burgers I've ever had. Anyone trekking there for the ND-PU game this year should stop in and grab one.

EDIT: They're currently building a Quaker Steak here in Fort Wayne, Indiana. I remember watching the episode with the suicide wings or whatever. I'm amped for it to open, because I love BDubbs, Hooters, and Wings Etc, but am looking for some variety in my wing consumption.

omg McD's angus burgers are so bad... so bad... I'll take their dollar McDouble over anything on their "real" menu... the dollar menu saves McD's... and sorry, for my money the best fast food anything is InNOuts A S fries... LOVE THEM...

anyway,

-Five Guys is bomb...
-you like deep fried peppers on a stick and "mexican" food centered around tomato paste salsa
-I like a very popular fast food joint
-You are a deer who posts on a cfb message board
-who is the wierd one???

;)

See, it's your retention and the fact that you work with the youth that scares me. And the fact that you like those soggy azz fries from In-n-Out. You are the only one I have ever encountered that has witnessed a chile relleno on a stick. I hate what Cali calls "salsa." which is chopped tomatoes and maybe some onion and maybe some cilantro. You are the defender of that caca.

I am not weird. I simply have four legs and one eye. And I hate In-n-Out fries. Didn't like the 5 Guys fries either. Overcooked and soggy.

one of thses days our paths will cross... and I'll beat you with a pepper on a stick... then after you are done enjoying it... I'll buy you some real mexican food that will blow your mind.
