Way to go Irish93, I think I'll wait until he announces for any disappointment. Expectations are not great, but if you take the kid at his word, (I know I'm being naive) then we have at least an equal shot at recruiting him. USC's Bush problem and the alleged disenchantment of Malcolm's mom with the USC program does provide some of us with hope. Please don't take that away from us at least, unless you have some direct information that Smith is already a Trojan.

BTW- I see you are from Philly, so am I, and I assume that you are an Eagles fan, as I have been for over 40 years, so I can understand why you might be used to disappointment, but let's wait until next week to bury this one.

I agree I think we are done preiod...just hope we do not lose anymore. I know he has not had much time but so far Brown has helped land a RB and lost a DT...not the direction we need to go! I am just hoping next year is a much better year for defensive recruits. If our defense plays much better this year I think there will be a HUGE change in defensive recruiting for ND. Still leary of the 3-4...we did not have 3 good LB last year let alone 4!!!

I was thinking yesterday how happy I would be with the class if it just ended. But, then Florida came along. But, I agree with you jr, I think that we are done (except for maybe a kicker). Everyone else on the board is a big long-shot. I'm not usually the pessimist, but I think that in the past couple of weeks, I have become one. I'll try to keep it more positive after Feb. 7th.

That's ok, go ahead and get disappointed. He commited to USC this morning before school.

We have a week and a half until signing day and signing day always brings surprises so lets just be patient. I don't think you can rweally point any fingers at CB for losing or gaining anyone( I think hughes was more affected by the DW early entry). From what I understand CB is a hell of a recruiter and should provide great recruits given a full year of getting in homes, and actually you know, running a defense. And its not that we didn't have 3 good linebackers last year most of them were freshman and just weren't ready to see the field yet, I have a feeling once we get the LB's from last years class and this years class into the mix the 3-4 won't be a bad scheme.
