This is from a poster from DD. I've quoted this guy many times, as he is very close family friends with Rabasa and has provided great inside info on him. He has also been in contact with some of their other commits, most notably the Florida guys. Here is what he found out from Lynch.

Just got done texting Aaron Lynch and this is what he texted me about the rumor of him decommiting via-text....

I sent alford a text. Me and alford was reaaaaaaalllll close. The reason i fell for ND waz b/c of him. He waz my father figure wen ma grandfatha past. His father passed also. And to call him it was gonna be one of the hardest things in my life i wud had to do. I knew if i called i wud have never de-committed. Its like tellin your father yu dont want him to be around him at all. I knew it wud have been emotional b/c me and alford are as close as any son and father. I knew if i wud had called i wudnt have de-committed b/c it is to hard to tell your father some like that. Yu dnt know how it is. It waz fukin hard to send him that txt. B/c the reason i committed is b/c i fell in love with him, louis, man-ti and everyone there. But it wasnt the place for me. I dont expect yu to beleive it or even feel wat im sayin.Sorry

He also said that he doesn't wanna leave Florida and he wants to play in the 4-3

He's right...I don't get it.

He fell in love with Alford and the guys (Louis, Manti, and "everyone there"), yet it wasn't the place for him...

Best of luck to him, I suppose, but that quote leaves me scratching my head.

How many NFL teams run the 4-3? What happen if he's drafted to a team that runs the 3-4?

I guess I'll have to text my dad when I've decided to move onto someone else.

To be honest I really don't care anymore about this subject matter. At first I was fuming and upset like many of us on here, but it is what it is and he is not coming to ND, so life goes on and so does our recruiting to look for kids that really want to play for Notre Dame. I wish him the best of luck and hope he finds what he is looking for.

Ummm, it sounds like a Notre Dame education was going to be a gift from the heavens for that kid. I'm sure 30 years from now he'll look back on his life and be really glad that he turned his back on a "father figure" and a ND degree so he could stay in a 4-3 defense...:eek:hwhateve

The kids seems to have problems. Pass on this one he is going to be trouble later on. Urban can handle that problem, lets get on the trail and get someone new.

I'm somewhat tolerant of "internet speak" as I see it all the time in emails cited in court cases, but that is worse than anything I've ever seen. There is no way that kid could handle an ND education.

That was my first thought. My second was that maybe they would have found a way to work with him and made sure he developed some of those basic tools he apparently needs.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I hope he ends up Miami. Not because I want us to play him a few years down the road (I do) but because of the three Florida schools it's the only one that might make an effort to educate him. Florida or Florida St? Forget about it, get him a general ed curriculum and hope he doesn't end up in prison. Miami, though, has come a long way since the 80s and seems to have it's football program under control; they might not give up on him.

I wish the kid well, being a teenager is hard, I am sure it is harder when you are under this type of scrutiny. For his sake, and ours, I wish he would have just gone w/ what he obviously has felt for a while from the start, the defensive scheme at ND and the location of ND, have not changed. As someone mentioned earlier, I hope playing in a 4-3 in Florida is worth, turning his back on Coach Alford, all those guys, and the school (where he spread his G-Pa's ashes for crying out loud)......Fellas, lets not bash the kids intelligence though please based on his grammer in a text, all my nieces/nephews text like that, and are fine students. I have heard Aaron interviewed, and he would have done fine academically at ND.

Isn't Miami trying up their standards back to like they were pre-Schnellenberger Era?

I'm gonna miss this kid. My heart goes out to him and his mother. I know he's a good kid. I'm glad he'll always be a Notre Dame fan...

Aaron and Alice. I knew you were real. I know you're still around lurking. Good luck and god bless. Your grandfather would understand. May Aaron go on and do something special.

That's my understanding of it...I've got no idea if it's just white washing or if they're actually focusing on being a legit college for the athletes, but certainly you hear a lot fewer negatives about "The U" these days.

Johnny, god bless you and I agree with a lot of this... but it would be much easier to defend him if he hadn't pulled a Newt. It's one thing to break a commitment or to leave someone, but to do it when they're at rock bottom is something entirely different.

My brother, I realized how much growing up to do this kid had in front of him when I read his text...

It's for the best.

I just wish he would have done this whole de-commitment thing differently. I really do wish him the best. Some people just aren't cut out for the rigors of the ND environment and it really isn't for every kid out there.

You people are ridiculous and have truly lost sight of reality.

this iz how kidz talk thz days, thy shortn wdz so thy cn txt fster!!! BIG DEAL

All kids do it, recruits, commits, current ND players......Half of what Cierre would puts on his twitter and facebook page I cant even decipher!!! (Not that I am singling him out)

I could not stop laughing after reading this thread, some of you are acting like Aaron Lynch did something to you, PERSONALLY!

News flash stop paying attention to recruiting if you are going to cry everytime a kid decommits...There is no "Top Rated Class" until National Signing Day.

I have coached for a few years now, we dont count a kid as a part of our class until he shows up for camp!

Fair enough. But if you expected to find meaningful conversation in a chat room, well, that's not much better than looking for intelligence in a text message, is it?

Iz it dat hrd to feel dat if he want to de-commit he shud hav dun it a few days after ND lost to Tulsa well morning sumbody who died wit da team? or dat maybe he shud use serious english when hez sayin sumtin sereous?

Again, you've definitely got a point. I'll leave it at this: I think he's making a big mistake, especially if he really does see Alford as a "father figure". I think he could have handled the whole thing much better. And I hope that wherever he ends up, the school makes sure he takes his education seriously. Like I said in my first post here, 3-4 or 4-3 doesn't make that much difference in the big picture.

As for wanting to stay close to home: I have no ability to empathize with that point of view at all. I'll just have to trust that it's important to him.

If he would of stuck to his commitment...and LOI...I think he would of pulled a Shaq Evans....missing home....and feeling entitlement. That is just my opinion....so relax....:)
