Don't you think it's a tad early to start doing that? First of all we don't know who is and who isn't comming back. That goes for both ND and everyone on their schedule. Then I'd like to see how the recruiting class finishes out. Fianlly I will reserve judgement untill we see what if any coaching changes are made after the season and how the team looks in spring ball.

I don't blame a new guy for wanting to do that. But I do agree with the others....let's see who commits, who comes back, what CW says about changes to staff (if any) and gameplanning, and then we'll worry about next years record.

The 2008 season is going to hinge on San Diego State.

ND has to beat them decisively in order to take on Michigan with the idea that they can beat them.

This year at least showed that home field advantage conveyed little value to the Irish. So I wouldn't count on that being much of an equalizer.

If they have trouble handling SDS and Michigan then crushes a team who does not believe, the season is all over. I mean it. You guys fixate on 5 Stars, but attitude and team chemistry drive success big time. And I think that's a bigger issue that has to be repaired than the roster.

Flipping the scenario, we beat SDS handily and think, Michigan? Bring 'em on!! Well, then we have something...

(Now I wonder who can coach them up to that mindset?)

And most important of all....Mark May getting fired for allowing a few ill-timed swear words to escape his mouth on air while seeing ND score updates come across the teleprompters...something like this "What the @#$!!!!! IT'S @#$%^!& Notre Dame!!! Why in the name of all that is good and holy do you %$^@#@heads continue to give up poitns to a team with such poor team speed????"

As for next year? Well, I believe that a return to the 2005-model is in order....THAT team was supposed to be as bad as this year's team if you took their previous season and "expert" opinions into consideration...they seemed to do pretty good in the end if I recall, I may even have enjoyed a few of those games...like say erasing the memory of a 38-0 loss to Michigan or beating pre-season top-5 team (Tenn) by 20 points...

Call it 10-2 and remember to try the veal and tip your waitresses...
