we can blame Jimmy for 3 TO's, i don't . i think he's having breakout year. We can blame the Running game which sucks this year, but i won't. We can blame our Defense, because they suck every year. I won't. We lost because we have an absolutely useless kicker. We could have kicked a FG to bring the game to 27-29, but we go for it on 4th down because we have 0 faith in him. We hit that FG and all we need is a FG at the end of the game to win.

Tate, Floyd, Kumara had great games.

Tausch better be the real deal.

i disagree. at 29-24 with 5 minutes left, its possible we never see the ball again. going for it on 4th down was the right call

Broheim, are you really blaming the kicker who wasn't given the opportunity to miss or make that kick? Puhlease. How long has Charlie Weis been the coach? 4 years? So, I ask you. Whose fault is it that we have a shitty kicker? Ty Willingham's?

I think the fg would have been beneficial but we're also talking about after the game is already decided and looking back. If your playing to win you have to go for it instead of kick the ball, you never know how many possessions you'll have. It was a good call in today's circumstances, even if NC kicks a fg on us we can still tie it.

You blame the kicker because he has provided ZERO confidence for his coaches.

At that point of the game, he had been given 7 chances, over the course of the season, and had only come through on one. 1 success every seven tries might be ok, in a bar full of coeds on a Friday night, but it's pretty horrible on the field on Saturdays.

If you haven't noticed, Walker has a tremendous leg. A coach can't predict that a kid will get a case of the shanks when he gets between the lines. You can give some blame to CW, but what do you want him to do? Go to Burkhart who can't even kick in practice? We have another kicker coming in next year. If he sucks too, then go ahead and blame CW 100%...

At the risk of sounding redundant, it is the entire process, not just the kicker. I don't want to be redundant.

Snap is good. Hold is good, kick is...GOOD!
Snap is good. Hold is good, kick is...GOOD!

Sounds like a case of coaching neglect up to now. (In my not so humble opinion). It seems they thought such a simple thing as a FG would take care of itself. If you want to win it all, you have to make sure that you are as good as the worst player on your team. (Not calling anyone the worst here, but...)

Snap is good. Hold is good, kick is...GOOD!

But I will NEVER repeat myself.
I will NEVER repeat myself.

I promise. I promise.

i would not have been disappointed if charlie tried a FG there but on 4th down rudolph was wide open down the middle of the field. the checkdown to allen wasn't the proper read and i'm sure they will discuss that after reviewing the film. my hope is that these kids grow from this experience and continue to put themselves in a position to win games. i said before the season that ND would lose to MSU, UNC and USC and i'm right on track. what's sad is we could've won the games against MSU and UNC but turnovers killed us there. we need to take care of the football and come up with some pressure on the opposing QB. lack of a true pass rush has plagued ND since the Holtz era and we gotta just continue to try and recruit playmakers. i'm still bullish on this team. after a bye week we'll be back and ready to light somebody's bush on fire.

This is so true, 5 turnovers kills you in a game like this. It's amazing to me that we still could've have won even with the TOs. Usually they bury you with that many turnovers.
