Good thinking Junkhead, I think Heck would be perfect, but I wonder what our chances of getting him from the NFL look like?
I know they are young but can somebody break down how many starts and apperances in games these guys have? When is that corner going to be turned? Damn it. I'm sick of feeling like this on Monday mornings. This is B.S!!! Something needs to happen.
I have never really been too big on calling for coaches to be canned, but I have to agree with the sentiment in regards to Latina. While we are at it, I would throw Mendoza's name in there as well. To me, our line hasn't looked strong in a few years. These guys are absolute monsters, size-wise, but they routinely get manhandled by smaller opponents. Sam Young, at 6'8" and 320+, with three years of starting under him, should be one of the most dominant linemen in the nation. There is no excuse for him not to be a Jake Long-caliber player right now! Instead, he often looks more like Shelly Long out there. We couldn't even get a wide receiver to come in at a good weight this season.
I vote for irishmarine to be our next strength and conditioning coach!!!
As far as our O line coach, how about Aaron Taylor? He is busy with his philanthropic efforts, but helping our offensive line could be viewed as charity too!
Holy crap! I just realized I am going down a very negative path! That is not like me! What have I become?!?
not an excuse any more frank. they are still laying cut blocks for the love of god. nothing says "pussy" any more than cutblockThey are young; however, most of them have been starting since last year except Trev.
I don't expect perfection, but Isn't it time to start seeing a little improvement in the run blocking going into game 9 of the season even if it was their first year as starters.
I'm not saying that Latina needs to be fired, because from what I've come to know he's a great coach and CW seems to respect him a lot, but its just tough to watch us not be able to run the ball week and and week out. We have the talent at every position on the OLine, we have the talent and RB, so whats the deal. I keep reading that we don't have the right players and they need to develop and what not, but wait til next week and Navy just crams the ball down our throat on every play. Those guys are not 4* and 5* lineman and they evidently do a good enough job to clear some holes for the 2* and 3* running backs to go through week after week. If average teams are doing it with average players, why can't we?
/Strange Brew/
Come to the darkside Luke, you knob !
Our running plays need way more imagination. Could we please try a direct snap to Aldridge or run the half end around to Tate again after the fake up the middle?
