sounds like a good prospect but do we really need another CB? McCoy would be great though

I suppose he could play WR. Svoboda's point was correct, though. If he waits until he takes all of his visits, there may not be a spot left for him at Notre Dame. I would sure love to land McCoy, though. He tops my wishlist by a large margin right now.

I am sure we would take Moore if we could get him but I think we have more urgent needs at this time. The defensive backfield seems to be in good shape for next year.

You can't teach speed and that is what this guy has in spades. He might wind up at WR but Weis likes bigger guys in that spot if he can get them.

Linemen are the crucial needs now--both OL and DL. McCoy would be huge.

You can never have enough depth at DB.

They need two defensive tackles for sure. Three more o linemen still needed as well.

who would have thought ND would have this problem?

Jigga, I think only ONE person................C Dub.........

read what he said about this week....let the starters rest physically, prepare them mentally.....and all of the asst. coaching staff is going to be out recruiting this week (and I take it NOT golfing.....sorry, had to get that in)

It would be nice, but I think we are pretty well set at his positions. With the 6or so scholarshiops we have left, we need to bag O and D linemen. These are the players that make your team effective. If you don't dominate in the trenches, you lose.

We also need to look hard at the linebacking corps. We need a few real good ones in this class.

Concentrate on linemen and linebackers.

I would just start plucking guys left and right. Linemen are the biggest need right now, but linebacker looks pretty set for now. Brockington, Quinn, Smith, Washington, Crum...these guys all have plenty of eligibility left. I think NEXT year's class will have a heavy focus on linebackers and more offensive linemen.

I think the linemen are critical NOW! Defensive backs and running backs can play as freshmen if they are good enough. Linemen take seasoning and strengthening and rarely play as freshmen. Line recruits this year will not likely play until 2007 or 2008 at the earliest.

Got to get them NOW!

Yeah, that's accurate. How many linemen that we've offered are still on the market?

There are a lot of linemen still on the market. Off the top of my head-Carufel, Young, Wegner, Brown, Stewart, Stadler, Marsh, Lewis (who could be a DT as well), and Rose. Getting at least two of these is crucial, but it is not a bad bet.

Lineman are important, but one more WR would still be nice, though. Remember we lose three this year with Stovall, McNight and Shelton. Smarj will be the only returnee with much experience. Grimes could get some mop-up time down the home stretch. Hord and Anastacio are enigmas at this point, as is Bragg as he is playing a new position. Losing Vaughn may hurt a bit in a year or two. With Parris's injury, he may be a year away from contributing when he arrives.

Yeah, but how many of those linemen are big on Notre Dame right now? That was more of what I was getting at... and yes, we do need another WR in the mix badly.

Stadler appears to be Va Tech or Bama. Brown is big on Va Tech too, but ND is in there.

Daron Rose has ND in his final 7, dropped SC. Marsh is a longshot.

I'd stick to Rose, Young, Carufel, Stewart and Lewis like glue. If they nab Young, they have two tackles. Rose and Carufel would be the guards and you put Olsen at center. Best 5 line recruit class in a long time...anywhere.

We really don't need that guy.....IF I say IF he considered ND.he lost the door and it hit him walking out. Go elsewhere. I can't see an official PAID by ND visit worth our time and money. We need LINEMEN now, both sides.

He can take his stats and hype elsewhere.............

While not quite there yet...seven coaches on the road............It is KIDS ND is not waiting for you you better jump while you can. Times change ND changed with them

After this season, the depth at WR is almost as bad as OL. An injury or two and we are in trouble. It's too early to tell how soon Parris will be able to contribute, though indications are it is better than feared. No door has hit this guy. He's visiting, and if he accepts the offer, he should be a welcome addition to this class.

I believe Austin and Jackson realize the need for WR here and the opportunity to thrive under Weis will be too much to decline...So I see us landing one of them. Both are ranked in the Top 10 for their positions.

100% agreed. the whole damn roster is thin. Stovall, gone. McKnight, gone. Shelton, gone. That leaves The Shark and a DJ Hord who has never played. Parris and Gallup are good, but Jackson and Austin are better. The O line will fall into place, especially if Brown goes Irish tomorrow. They'll be three down and two to go.
