Konrad Rouland?

according to irisheyes.com his top three are ND, Stanford and USC does anyone know when rouland plans on taking his officall visits or when he plans to announce? if i had to guess i would say that ND maybe the favorite with the academics at ND and they way CW uses the TEs. if he wants to jump on board he better hurry up offers are starting to run out.

He reminds me alot of Olsen from Miami. (The one who transferred from ND). Id say its us and USC. Id say he is serious about academics since he lists Stanford as well. I think though that we win over USC. CW used the TE's better than USC does. I think he will keep that in mind.

This class will be flooded with recruits. I'm betting they'll take more than 25. There are too many guys that want in, especially after a victory on Saturday.

I actually read, USC cooled on him a little bit, because they saw another TE they liked in Cali, plus he wasn't to thrilled they got a commitment from a JUCO TE already.

I think he'll be Irish, he really looks like a surfer dude though lol...

Reuland will join a stand-out list of athletes playing in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl on Saturday, January 7, 2006 at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas.


The classic East vs. West match-up will be played and televised on NBC January 7th at 11:00 p.m. (PST) and will feature the top 78 prep football student-athletes in the country.

Konrad Reuland (6-6/240) of Mission Vieho High School is the #2 ranked Tight End in the nation according to Scout.com. He is considering Notre Dame, Stanford, USC, California, Miami, Ohio State, and UCLA among others.

"One of the best pass-catching tight ends to come out of California in the past decade, Konrad has great size and speed and catches everything thrown to him, while being a mismatch every time he goes out," according to Chris Fetters of Scout.com.

Reuland is a standout tight end at Mission Viejo High School and was one of 400 players nominated nationally and one of 78 selected to participate by the U.S. Army All-American Bowl Selection Committee.

Not sure on Paddy's stats, but Carlson, Hiben and Reuland would be quite a mix. You have to assume that Carlson will win Fasano's spot next year and Hiben will get the reps. Reuland coming in would put him next in line.

I think Fasano could have a year that would equal big bucks. Being that he is an ND athlete, he may choose to stay. I'm sure the staff would tell him to bolt if the opportunity was there.

The only tight ends I've seen that are ahead of him are Mercedes Lewis from UCLA and Jeff King from Va. Tech.

Getting ahead of the game here, but I like Fasano as an NFL opt.

I think Fasano will hear his name in the first round, first TE taken come time for the NFL draft. Personally, I hope the Bears or Colts get him.

I don't know... I think Fasano has demonstrated he is a complete TE and bias aside, I think he is the best in the land from what I see every week on TV.

Well it may not be enough depth. Especially for an offense that uses a lot of two tight end sets. That leaves one experienced guy on the sideline. One injury and you're down to no experience on the sideline. Not to mention practice. Practice takes it's toll as well and you need guys to run your offense and the opposition's offense every practice. Four guys may indeed be enough, but five is hardly too many.

Also figure in that recruiting rankings aside, you really don't know which one of the two will end up the better player a couple years down the road so why rush to move one. Mullen may very well end up on defensive line and be a star. That would be great. I think a dominating D-line is the quickest way to becoming a dominating team overall. I just think right now is too soon to predict the move.

I looked up Mullen's stats. 9 receptions for 172 yards. That's over 19 yards per. He also has three TD's. Not bad for a TE over five games. On defense he has 6 tackles 3 sacks.

Reuland so far, FWIW, has 6 catches for 89 yards and three TD's.
