1. Run the ball (200+ yards).

2. Pound the ball.

3. Run the ball.

4. Hold Navy under 300 yards rushing (NO CHANCE they end up under 200, plove).

5. Red zone defense.

6. Force a few third-and-longs.

7. Run the ball.

8. Pass it sometimes, too.

Notre Dame has 7 offensive touchdowns on the season. I fully expect that they come close to matching that tomorrow (Delware scored 59 on Navy!).

I'll be happy with five, but yeah, I'm definitely looking for a breakout. *chugs the Kool-Aid*

I am sad that we have a post entitled 'keys to victory' for the Navy game. I don't care that they have been to 4 straight bowl games.

Let's dominate this game so we don't need 'keys to Air Force' or 'keys to Duke.'

Heavens to Mergatroid.

Some keys...

Some keys...

ND team positives include being bigger, stronger, faster
and more talened than Navy. Irish negatives include not
being able to pass or rush worth s***.

Navy negatives include a long injury list, but the
Navy has one major positive - their team plays like
a very efficient machine. They embody the true
meaning of "team".

The Irish are better prepared. Two weeks to prepare
and experience against opponents who have averaged
11 points/game better records.

ND's rushing game is nil, but so is the Navy defense.
Even better, the Navy pass defense is horrible. These
items lend an opporturnity for ND to both pass and rush.

Navy's passing game is a nonentity. Their rushing stats
are impressive, but who have they played? Look for an
attempt to catch ND sleeping when Navy throws a few
long ones. However, the best chance they have is to
run the option to perfection. On the other hand, ND
has the speed and talent to cover.

Unless ND screws up royally on offense, the Irish should
win big...Tom

Tackle!

Tackle!

Tackling will be a huge issue in this game. We must wrap, and not get dragged 3-4 yards like we have been against other opponents. Navy feeds off of famine, famine, feast. 3 yards, 4 yards at a pop...and they wear you down and then run one for 20. We must hit very hard, wrap, and not get dragged. Send a message, knock their teeth in, and toughen up.

Oh, well come on ... Navy has been pretty friggin good for a while, and they can be a damn tough opponent.

That said, with the way their defense has been in 2007, there is NO excuse for the streak to end this year. None.

I stand corrected. They are friggin awesome. World-beaters. Put Navy up against any D-1A team in the country (not D-1AA, mind you.)

Anchors Aweigh!!!!
