Thanks for bursting my bubble guys. I was under the impression that playing Magic the Gathering was going to get me laid. Now I'm back to square one.

And I don't care who it is, if you've got good info please share it (though I do appreciate all of Jigga's contributions).

Since we're so long away from signing day is there any indication that any coaches will try and make a push for Neal? If I'm not mistaken there were a record number of decommitments last year and it almost seems like that's going to be the nature of the beast from here on out. Though Neal's comments and attitude seem to indicate he's Irish for life.

I think that as of right now, this kid is a virtual unknown. I believe (and I apologize that I didn't read that closely about the kid) that the only school that has paid any attention to him is Wake. C-Dub must have been impressed enough to offer him and i trust his judgement.

When you become a black belt of the 50th degree and Dungeon Master in D and D, that's when the ladies come a callin my friend. If that fails you, then try out the Star Trek Conventions. Nothin beats some NERD LOVE. They may look like frogs, but they love like stallions.

exactly....weis isn't tossing offers across the country yet. he has to be talented to be part of the first group of offers. i'd rather have a kid who's dying to come to ND that will give 1000% every moment on that campus than a premadonna elite player that will leave after junior year.

I agree Gizmo, there were alot of de-committments last year. None of them however, were from kids committed to Notre Dame. I think that Charlie and his staff know the type of kids that they are after and don't deviate from the plan. This makes the verbals solid. I believe, from what I read, Neal is solid.

these are the type of players I like. The ones that don't have to wait around to be in the spotlight for a year and then announce where he's going. This kid loves Notre Dame and just wants to get on the field and play ball. Good start for Charlie.

Thanks for the input guys. Over the past few years I've noticed the development of an atmosphere where recruiters won't take "no" for an answer. As the stakes become higher the competition seems to get tougher. But St. Kittsnd was right to point out that we had no such decommitments this year. I think it will be very important in the future for Charlie to continue to recruit the kids who truly want to come to Notre Dame (ex: Neal) because like I said, this trend of decommitment does not appear to be changing anytime soon. This shouldn't be a problem though because we've always had the history and the mystique and the academics, but now we've got a great staff and hopefully we can rebuild that winning tradition and create a snowball effect in recruiting. This should be a fun offseason.

Jiggs, this is for you. I have just had the opportunity to read this thread from the beginning and I am dissapointed in the personal attacks, This site is the best source of ND recruiting information and YOU are a large part of the enjoyment I get from the site, especially your posts. As far as I am concerned it is perfecly OK to ask questions of the members, but there is no room for arguments about personal qualifications of the author. Frankly, if you cease to post stories on this site it would lose it's appeal for me. So let's get back to the reason for the site in the first place and invite anyone who doesn't like it to get their information somewhere else

Jiggs, thanks for all your posts and please keet it up..

yeah, who the heck was that guy? Nobody said Jiggs was an expert. I do appreciate the articles that Jiggs post from other sites. Jiggs just loves ND football and goes out of his way to find useful and interesting tidbits of information. I'm not even going to comment on those ridiculous posts. Anyway, it looks like Charlie is going to recruit alot of the "diamonds in the rough"-type players. Due to ND's recruitment of certain "unknown" players, these same players will receive extra attention from other D-1 programs. I love it!

This is far and away the best ND forum. Jiggs is one the reasons it is. Another reason is we engage in civil disagreements based on educated opinions.

Irishdee this is the wrong site to come spewing hate. Take it to the four letter dot com forums. This site is about informed debate and providing information.

As for the subject of this post - Verbals - silent, rumored or otherwise - at this point don't have a whole lot of value. But it's nice to know that ND is in the lead as the recruiting horse race enters the first turn.

Props to all that defended Jiggs - negative rep to Irishdee (first that I've ever given) for being a goof.

Now I'm going to plop my ass on the couch and watch '24'

If you don't live in LA, you should watch 24 living in LA...it is ten times better. Sunrise Hills Mall was the Northridge Fashion Center, so I was like, Oooh my 2 & 3 year old cousin just got nerve gassed!!! Sweet!!!

BTW, ignoring IrishDee would be best...Let's get back on topic with regards to the rumors. What are the chances that some of these guys will come out soon??

Apparently Irishdee Was A Fraud

Apparently Irishdee Was A Fraud

As a followup to my earlier response to "IrishDee's" disparaging comments, I checked his membership and found that he joined Irish Envy on February 25th and only made the seven posts shown on this thread. Conclusion: Irish Dee stands for irish de[rogatory]. He is obviously neither a positive contributor nor a Notre Dame fan. Not that there is anything wrong with not being a Notre Dame fan, but I would find it difficult to see why anyone would bother to become a member. Its one thing to "bring something to the table" and offer topics worthy of discourse. However, we haven't heard any response from Irish Dee; who was given time and opportunity to reply, so I don't plan on wasting any more time or energy in the future on him or the very few others like him that show up occasionally on these sites.

Hey guys, thanks for all the kind words, but the issue has been resolved. It should no longer be a matter of concern.

What interests me about Kerry Neal is that if he has been brought in as a DE, that leaves Trattou and Martin with offers as well, Corley in the wings.

Might be looking at another first come, first serve situation once the next verbal at DE rolls in. It looks like they are looking for 2 or 3 DE for this crop.
