This guy pitched 5 innings tonite and had 10K/1BB to get the victory for the Scranton Yankees. This guy is the real deal and I'll have to make it a point to go see him before he is called up in the near future. This guy and Hughes are the future for the Yanks.

Forgot to mention this was his first start at AAA. He had an 88 pitch count but that happens when you strike out ten guys. He throws between 94-97 mph consistently and has a plus slider along with a nice change. This guy is something special.

This guy is amazing. He and Hughes are the future and Mussina and Igawa are the past

That is where you guys got to win 4 championships in the 90's, thru your farm system.

Hughes will replace Igawa this season as he was just sent down to Scranton. Hughes pitches either this Sunday or Monday for Scranton and then he'll get the call up.

Well Hughes pitched 6 2/3 of shut out ball and will be starting for the Big Club on Saturday. Chamberlain made his first appearence out the pen pitching an inning and striking out the side. The gun at the stadium had him touching 100 mph at one time.

Here is some local media on Chamberlain and Ian Kennedy who also made his AAA debut last week. You'll have to click on the video in the window.

With the delirious sellout crowd of 55,071 chanting his name again, Chamberlain worked a perfect seventh against the middle of Detroit's dangerous lineup. He got Sheffield to pop up on an eye-high, 99 mph fastball, then struck out Magglio Ordonez and Carlos Guillen to preserve a 4-3 lead.

"I still get chills every time it happens," Chamberlain said. "I'm going to challenge every guy out there."

The rookie sensation has 11 strikeouts in seven scoreless innings since being called up from Triple-A on Aug. 7.

"For someone of this limited experience, I can't remember anybody like him," Torre said. "Not only as far as throwing hard, but the fact that he can make pitches."

(link) Gosh, this kid is gonna be frickin RIDICULOUS.

Not sure if anyone saw this, but Ian Kennedy will be starting in place of Mike Mussina on Saturday. Joba, meanwhile, is the first pitcher since 1900 to start his career with eight straight scoreless relief appearances.

You guys got a real player. He's unbelivable. This is how you guys won 4 world Series in a row, through the farm...

Yea for real..its going to be a great several years coming up for the rivalry. Both the Sox and the Yanks have shown some very impressive young pitching which should make for some awesome pennant runs for years to come.

I was at the game yesterday and sat behind homeplate in the upper tier. When Chamberlain pitched I could hear the glove pop, he has some amazing stuff.
