Never was a Yankees fan nor ever will be (Phillies fan here, BTW) but if more athletes in all the four major sports in the United States conducted themselves on and off the playing field like Derek Jeter did his entire career, we would have much less despicable stories of savages like Ray Rice hitting his then-fiancée as well as Adrian Peterson physically disciplining his children too hard to the point they have serious bruises and cuts and dopers like Barry Bonds, Alex Rodriguez, Mark McGwire, Jose Canseco, and others juicing as much as they can in order to out homer previous sluggers. Derek Jeter did no performance enhancers nor ever was an abusive animal off the field. He carried himself with class and integrity and gave a 100% every play. It really is not every day, let alone every year, that someone with the character of Jeter comes around.
