The person that posted it also won't give a source. Take it FWIW.

I would love to see this guy and his father come to Notre Dame. We would benefit and so would James Wilson. He seems to embode the values of Notre Dame.

I don't have much to go on, but I also know we have a very good shot at Everson Griffen. Pete has been working this recruit very hard and has yet to get a verbal from him. He continues to insist that Notre Dame is a very close second. While I would not trade Ben Martin for Everson, the thought of facing the two of them should give opposing coaches night mares.

I don't think Ben Martin is ours to trade.

What I mean is that in terms of ranking Ben Martin versus Everson Griffen, I am sky high on getting Ben Martin. Everson is more physically ready to play right away, but Martin has some natural ability that is rare. Same of Everson. I like them both, and rank them equally even though the rankings are otherwise..

I see your point. My point was, don't get too sky high on getting Martin. As of this weekend, that one may be over.

Bleed, He was on rivals several weeks ago insisting we were a very close second. That Friday evening Pete Carroll was seen parading along the sidelines at Everson's Friday night football game.

Pete Carroll is known to use intense pressure to get recruits to commit. While people like free-Kobee and some other USC posters won't respond to it, Pete does this when he is most nervous. Pete did this to get Chris Galippo to commit to USC when chris came back from Junior day at ND saying Notre Dame was easily in the lead. Pete may pull off a commitment with Everson, but right now, Everson is resisting.

Scooper, As far as Ben, what have you heard? I just love Ben Martin's ability.

I know he prefers DE, but I'd love to see Everson Griffen in that DT mix. He'd be a major force anywhere on the D-line, though.

Honestly I would take Griffin over Martin, but would love to land both. Neal, and Martin, with Barksdale and Griffin inside. Monsters.

Strong rumors that he will commit to the bucks this weekend. I've heard for weeks now that he was leaning that way. And now he is believed to be pulling the trigger. These are rumblings that I heard from a buddy who is really into Cincy high school football. Though he himself has no real connection to Martin or LaSalle.

If he doesn't that bodes well for us.

That would be a bummer to lose him to OSU. Especially since Lawrence Wilson went over there a couple of years ago too.

Rivals says Wilson is concerned about the Reggie Bush situation at USC has him concerned about potential NCAA inquiry and perhaps violation.

Wilson is supposedly tight with Tebow and that Florida, as well as Ohio State, have been in contact. Carroll as well is pushing hard to keep him in the fold. Rivals says Charlie hasn't been in contact since Wilson started having second thoughts.

I seen on Domer's Domain that the OSU commitment for the weekend is "suppose" to be Eugene Clifford and not Ben Martin.

I hope we can steal Wilson from USC. We can have the best o-line in the country in about 2 or 3 years.

Yeah, the commitment at OSU this weekend is Clifford. However, I've thought OSU's led for Martin for awhile now. At least that's the noise around here.

USC ship jumpers

USC ship jumpers

This topic is worth following. It's not unrealistic to think that some recruits could be having second thoughts.
Stay patient. Wait for the NCAA to do their thing. And then see where the chips fall.
I know I'd be having second thoughts pledging my allegiance to a criminal organization.
And I sure hope responsible parents are providing proper input on this subject as well.

Maybe this could happen:
"We, the University of Notre Dame, (that's "Our Mother" to you buddy), hereby grant the University of Southern California a plea arrangement, whereby they agree to forfeit their future rights to certain prospects, that we will chose, in exchange for their promise to straighten up and fly right." This agreement is binding until we decide that they have indeed done so."
Sincerely, Dr. Kevin White
Athletic Director, University of Notre Dame

Sounds legal to me.
Next case.

if USC is found guilty what would the punishment be? would they lose scholorships for so many years or would they lose the right to play in any post season games?

Charlie and staff handle committed players differently. I don't know what is going on with James Wilson, whether we know who are guards are going to be, but keep that in mind.

I though Everson had testing issues that would be a problem for him to come to ND.

And I've heard that the penalty for USC could be a forfeit of their 2005 and possiblty 2004 games and national championship, as well as scholarship limitations for x number of years. If enough crap comes out, I'd like to see them banned from post season as well. Carroll may be in trouble too if he continued to allow the agents to be that close to the program. Maybe he finally gets exposed too. That would be the most damaging to their program.
