Is there a bubble for recruiting sites?

Maybe I am just not seeing the number of subscribers each of these sites have but it feels like each of the sites (Rivals, 24/7 and Scout) are running subscriber promotions more and more these days. Added to this, sites like Scout have a ton of ads that many users have complained about. My thinking is if business is good, you don't run promos where you get 3 or 6 months for the price of one and you don't run excessive ads to the point where some subscribers actually leave because of it.

Just looking at the Irish Illustrated guys, I know Jack, Tim P., Tim O. and Pete are partners but they also have Jake, Anna and Steve (maybe part-time) on staff. Factor in not just salaries but overhead and travel costs...is it just a matter of time before one of these networks folds?

Is there enough interest in ND football/recruiting to support all of these sites?

I haven't noticed more on the "promotion" front as opposed to the past two or three years. It generally kicks up a notch starting with the holidays and through NSD. They just want people to jump into a subscription when they desire info the most. They know people want the scoop, and those scoops become more important and juicy after the season and right before NSD, so they run promotions to help those people pull the trigger.

Irish Illustrated ran a promo for 6 months for the price of 1 before the season started. That's the prime season.

247 is running a promo today, which seems logical as it's going to be a slow couple of months.
