Once again, the man gets 4 million dollars to coach a game. If you guys are content with his progress thus far, more power to ya. But at that kind of jack, I expect better results and I dont think I'm alone. We'll see how they address it after the season.

I would be surprised if anyone on this board actaully thinks he is appropriately compensated. He works hard no doubt and he takes alot of shit. The are the two best reasons for how much he gets paid. I think he needs to volunteer for a pay cut or get paid by the wins. I just assume he stay here and keep coaching but it is obvious that this offense is good enough to play with anyone and just needs some tweaking. The D needs an overhaul and CW needs to make some more changes. We have experience and athletes at the LB and DB positions and our Defense Coordinators are supposed to be specialist at coaching these positions and yet they are the most underachieving corps on the team.

umm no. I would rather not lose to navy at home and be 7-2 and cracking the top 15. Like we should be.

Don't forget that it's the 2nd home game in a row that they have beaten us. Has that ever happened before?

Yep! Guess what, we again scored (3) touchdowns in a game, guess what else, our D again allowed (3) touchdowns in a game. There def needs to be a change, but Charlie being switched out isn't going to help that. We are not recruiting Defense like we should be. I just read an article about mean, aggressive, & rip off your head attitudes don't always do so well in the classroom. Could this be the reason for our lack of good defensive recruitment? Made that up!!! Besides Teo, that does seem to be the case latley.

So if we beat Pitt (ranked #8/#9) are we back in the top 25?

Christ... this is not the Holtz Era. When Lou left, the program went into a bit of recession. I'm 24. I don't have the great days from the past to remember. But what I do know, after playing college football and now coaching high school kids, that Weis is rebuilding. If we keep turning back the clock every five years, this cycle of mediocracy is going to continue. Weis finally righted the ship. His teams have improved. I'm sticking with this guy because his ND teams have done nothing to improve. He has developed his players, running an effective O, and making this team a unit.

Fine. Hit reset. Let's just start again. Let's see how much love the next guy will get when he hasn't won 10 games or a BCS Championship in 5 years.

Great post!!! Some ND fans are simply not realistic and living in the past. We cannot accept being mediocre but unfortunately we can't simply flip a switch and become a contender. Rebuilding always takes longer than we want and we can't look at most of the other programs to see how fast they did it. Weis is putting/put a solid foundation in place now just lets just leave him the time to buid on it.

Like every ND fan I can't stand the fact that we lost twice at home to Navy but the past means nothing. We must embrace our history but we have to stop living in the past or we wont have a present and future. Streaks/records are meant to be broken. Navy has a good team, played a near perfect game and we were very unlucky. Don't let a loss destroy a program.

What is Notre Dame without valuing our past?

I've been asking you this and you can't even elaborate it because you know there is absolutely nothing about this program without our history. Our present is mediocre, and our future looks cloudy.

The only reason most people are posting here is because they live in the past when this was a respectable, successful football program. Now we're just Duke of the Midwest.

There is a difference between valuing our past and living in it.
