Seriously, can you think of a good reason to put JC as day-to-day if you're trying to keep the quarterback race a secret? I can, and it doesn't involve anything like a normal "day-to-day" player.

Also note JC didn't really know why he was called day-to-day when asked what it meant in his presser...

I think we should just start in Shotgun formation with JC behind center and ES to one side and DJ to the other.

We are going to run a three QB system with all three on the field at one time. It will be a triple Shotgun. GT will have no clue how to defend it. Charlie Weis's maid's brother's roommate's uncle's bestfriend's dogtrainer told me about it.

I was trying to think of how I would line all them up together. Unfortunately, Evan I dont think is much of an athlete, so you cant really play him any other position. You could have DJ as a McFadden-type threat and JC to bomb the ball, but the most Evan could do is block, i guess.

evan is more of an athlete than JC, but it doesnt matter bc of the way JC throws the ball

I donno, I saw a baseball game down here this February, and Evan looked pretty slow on the diamond. Couldnt really hit either. I can only imagine hes even slower with pads on.

I'm just trusting that c.w. will play the person who will give N.D. the best chance to win. I don't really care which of the three it is just as long as we can win some games. I'll be at the game (I know i've posted this fact several times) and I'm pretty anxious to find out how the Irish will look this year. Can't FREAKING wait!!

I think Claussen just misspoke when he made the 'day-to-day' comment. In the context in which he said it, I think he was trying to say he was 'just taking one day at a time,' and said it in a way that inferred that he was injured.

Nonetheless, I will personally be very suprised if he takes the field on the first series, let alone any series in the game on Saturday. I think this is DJ's team.

I get the feeling we are gonna be running with Anthony Vernaglia under center, running the triple option........... by himself

I actually don't think so, it seemed pretty clear to me he was told his status was "day-to-day." The question was specifically about his elbow's status, and I think he's smart enough to know the difference between day to day and taking it one day at a time.

Im pulling for JC. Got to meet him at the All American game last year and he really impressed me. Wasnt the best personality, but he was still interesting. Saw him in a few practice sessions before the game, and believe me, the reports dont lie when they say he has a rocket arm. Think John Elway, and that's JC. He can launch it 80 yards easy and hit a moving target. I have video confirmation if anyone wants to see it, too.

Anyway, I've been wondering for a while why everyone is expecting just ONE QB. Wouldnt that further allow CW to play this "who's going to start" thing past the GT game? He seems to enjoy holding this card, and a 2 QB system would accomplish that. And a while back he even said he's no opposed to doing it. Use DJ as a Tim Tebow-ish player and have JC in there for play-action and most passing plays.

maybe its just me but i cant see weis using DJ & JC like that. Urban did it, but everybody knew what was going to happen when tebow came in, they just couldnt stop it b/c hes so friggin huge. I think if they were used like that, it would tip the hat to the other team to a certain degree what kinda play charlie would call. DJ can run but at some point he's going to have to do some play action and/or passing which then kinda eliminates the purpose of JC being out there. I guess kinda cancels each other out....but what the hell am I talking about, I just got out of Calculus class

Guys don't you understand? This is all just Charlie planting a zillion different rumors to throw everyone off ...!

My cousin who know a cousin of Charlie Weiss, told him his cousin on his (mother side) told him that he heard Charlie Weiss cousin on his ( father side) said that he hasn't made his choice. See I have sources also.

Yeah, but if reports are accurate and DJ isnt very, ummm...accurate, it may come to that anyway if he's the guy. I mean if teams know we're going to run 80% of the time because we have a QB who cant throw, theyll know to play run almost every down. Im not saying copy what Meyer did, though. Im thinking bring JC in to start a game, let him run 1 or two draws, a couple shotgun passes, a few PAs. Then, when it starts to get rough and clogged, bring in DJ to do an option, veer, some short PA passes as well. But I wouldnt say, OK, 3rd and short, DJ go in and run a QB draw every time. I think DJ CAN throw, but not that well.

gotcha, i can see that...just needed some clarification b/c if we pulled the Tebow, go in a run right or left or whatever it was....i think i'd have to shoot myself. My parents and lil brother (ha he's 21) live in Gainesville so all I hear is Tebow could do this, could run over anybody at ND, blah blah blah.

I just dont really trust DJ to make those intermediate to longer throws b/c of his bad decision making and awkward throwing motion, and honestly...that could go for shorter routes as well, since outs arent that hard to time in a DB perspective and those slants could be "showtime" for a LB, especially that one guy GT has (forget his name)

all in all, who knows...i just want a W over those bastages in ATL

Im starting to see some writing on the wall for that too. The comments about how Weis feels about this situation : "You dont want to make the playbook too difficult". Stuff like that, and all the "Im not opposed to a 2-QB situation" seems to be gaining momentum.

this is true...

i had some chinese food for dinner today and looked at the fortune in my cookie and three of the lucky numbers on it were 3, 7 and 13. isn't that nuts? i guess charlie has gotten to the chinese food places too. i'd post the fortune, but i'm too lazy to scan the beast.
