I have vested interest in this. First, I want the Colts to win and win the Superbowl, so they need this game and 2) I want Weis in South Bend full time.

Any predictions?

Yes Brady may be good but he isnt naturally a great qb like Manning - so that'll be the difference - only if the Colts make mistakes will Weis be able to pull NE to the SB.

But what do i know - i thought Ron Zook was a good hire for the Illini ;) and was banned from the board lol

I'm not underestimating the resiliance of the Patriots for one minute. Guady stats do nothing for me. NE has averaged 34 points against the Colts in the last 5 meetings, all Pat wins. Weis and Romeo will have something up their sleeves waiting for the Colts. I'll take the Pats by a field goal.

NE is pretty much dominating the Colts thus far. Only 6-3 though. Colts simply cannot play in the snow, plain and simple.

Weis being in South Bend for two weeks before signing day isn't going to change much of anything. Playing in the SuperBowl with commentators bringing up the fact that he is ND's new coach every ten minutes will practically ensure the top recruiting class in the country next year. Today was a huge victory for the Patriots and ND.

i agree. the longer the patriots stay in the race, the more free press weis will get. weis got a lot of camera time today, too, though i didn't hear the announcers mention ND.

Yeah, they talked more about Crennel going to the Browns than Weis coming to ND.

Anyways, the Colts will never beat NE until they secure home-field advantage.

The win doesn't do much for me either way. I still think it's a Pittsburgh/Atlanta Super Bowl...although a Philly/Pittsburgh rematch would be a good game, also.

Twice. It was all Romeo.

Everyone in the country knows already, so saying Notre Dame will benefit even greater the longer Weis is still alive in the playoffs is a bit off IMO. The only time it would work is if they made it to the Super Bowl, because that is when they do the corny pieces on every Joe Schmoe.

I look at the prospects that are still available, interested, etc. and think we can make it into the Top 10 if Weis was on campus from now until signing day. Prospects like Lorig, RJ, etc all want to meet Weis before they make a decision and I don't blame them.

Just my two cents.

i agree that this year's recruiting class would improve is weis was with the irish full-time. however, i think one last superbowl victory is better for ND in the long term. people know that he has won past superbowls. however, at the time he did not get a lot of press. now, because of his move to ND, he will get much more press at this year's superbowl and it will be seen by a lot of potential recruits. kids will watch the game paying specific attention to weis.

Weis has already met most of them, and I'm sure will again be on campus for an official weekend. Hence, I think there is more to gain from going all the way then from hanging around campus.

The Pats have a great shot at going all the way. Popular opinion is that the AFC is far better than the NFC, meaning the winner of the AFC championship is favored to win the SuperBowl. Pittsburgh is the real challenge for New England.
