What do you think the outcome would be now? Man, the Purdue team we faced was much better then they are playing now. I think we would have beaten them easily.

Schedule timing is everything.

I cannot agree with you on that. ND's defense made an average QB like Paul Peterson look like Joe Montana in his prime with the 49ers. Also, Purdue has lost to wisconsin, michigan and northwestern. Notre Dame is not as good as any of those teams at this point.

Another question would be could Notre Dame beat Michigan or Michigan State right now. I say no. Hopefully this season will end with ty being fired and Notre Dame getting an actual coach who CAN BRING THEM BACK. Urban Meyer is my choice. Somebody is going to snatch him up, hopefully it will be the Irish.

I want Meyer too but they won't fire Ty until the end of his contract. No matter what happens the AD is just too lazy.

Purdue would would still handle ND and ND would still make Orton look like a Heisman candidate...as for Meyer, he's number 1 on my list with Gruden a close 2nd. Ty simple doesn't develope or "coach" his players. :banghead2

I think we would get blown out again. Notre Dames pass coverage is pathetic. As good as are front seven is Orton is mobile enough to elude the pass rush and find open receivers, which isn't hard againt this ND secondary.

I think we might beat Purdue now, but as someone previously pointed out, schedule timing is everything. When we played Purdue, they were at their peak and they have fallen hard from their #5 ranking since that win. I'm glad to see them struggle because I don't want Indiana recruits looking at Purdue.

Make us the underdog

Make us the underdog

I believe Notre Dame was favored against Purdue having the home field and beating Michigan.

I think athletes sometimes get in this funk when they are favored and dont get as pumped up for a game as they should, OR they are winning at half time lose their focus and get man handled in the second half.(BC)

Some teams can motivate themselves internally without the need for a pep talk from the coach.
some teams just as good need a talking to from their coach.

A good coach shoulod know what type of team he has and also know how to consistantly get them pumped enough to go and win all the games they should win and the ones they are not favored in. :naughty:
