I like people saying "Detroit! Oakland is a cesspool, why throw your career away Brady!"
Newsflash- Oakland was in the Super Bowl a few years ago. Detroit has sucked FOREVER. They're horrible again. They've got the same GM they had when they drafted Joey Harrington and then three wide receivers in four consecutive first rounds. They thought this coach was the answer- he's not. They still suck. They'll suck as long as Millen is there. Probably much longer than that. They're the Arizona Cardinals of the midwest. They wasted Barry Sanders.
As a Bears fan, and a Brady fan, I want him in the AFC. I've seen Brady against OSU and Michigan and Ga Tech- the Bears would eat him for lunch his first few years (if not longer- who knows how long Angelo and Lovie can keep that defense young and amazing?). Oakland is dysfunctional because of its head coach and a particularly bad crop of players, all as a fallout from that Super Bowl run. That was Al Davis's last hurrah and he built an old team to get it done, and it didn't work. Now they're just playing out the clock until he dies. But Brady would have as good a shot there as anywhere. Certainly as good as in Detroit, where he'd throw for big numbers to Roy Williams, and still manage to lose 12 games a year.
If he goes to the NFC, I can't root for him. I can still root for guys like Fasano and Stovall and Shark, guys who play dependent positions. But if Quinn is playing QB for a division rival? He's dead to me. And probably dead out on the field. Beneath Tommie Harris.
